Findleys Attend Commencement; Daughter Here Dr. and Mrs. Dwight Findley, Old Stage road, have returned from Seattle, Wash., where they attended- commencement cere monies at the University of Washington. Their daughter, Mrs. N. B. Bender Jr., is a mem ber of the class. She received a degree in literature. The Findleys were accompan ied to Seattle by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bartz. Portland. Mrs. Bender and Mrs. Bartz both re turned to Medford with their parents and are spending sev eral days here, and both Mr. Bender and Mr. Bartz are ex pected later. The Findley's son. Jack, has arrived home for the summer after completing his freshman year at Willamette university, balem. Student Graduated From Bible School Miss Elenore Corbin, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred G. Cor bin, Applegate, was graduated from Multnomah school of the Bible in Portland June 5. Com mencement ceremonies were held in Grant High school aud itorium. Miss Corbin, who completed a three-year Bible course, has taught various classes in Sun day schools and child evangel ism groups. She was graduated from Jacksonville High school in 1945 and attends St. Peter's Lutheran church. Prospect Bethel Guests of DeMolay Prospect Members of Bethel 56, International Order of Job's Daughters, attended installation of officers for Crater chapter of DeMolay June 7 in Central Point. George Gilman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gilman, was in stalled master councilor. Fol- . lowing the ceremonies, Mr. and Mrs. Gilman were hosts for a party at their home on Merri man road. Swimming and danc- ;ing were enjoyed. .Miss Walker Home From Trip South : Miss Jacque Walker has re turned to her home on Kinks' 'highway after a vacation trip to southern California. Miss Walker was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Dunn, Redlands, ;Calif., while away. I Miss Walker attended a meet ing of the Beta Sigma Phi coun cil of southern California held ;in Riverside and attended by about 700 members of the soro rity. She also visited the new .amusement park. Disneyland. ! Swedish Prince Denies Intention To Wed Margaret Stockholm, Sweden (U.B Prince Bertil of Sweden formal ly denied today that he intends to marry Princess Margaret, his royal guest at the Olympic equestrian games. -Ltss than a day after the 44-year-old princes escorted the 25-year-old British princess from the airport he made it known there is no truth in the rumors of a romance between them. Son of King Gustaf Bertil is the bachelor son nf Sweden's King Gustaf VI Adolf and second in line to the Swed ish throne. Princess Margaret, third in line to the British throne, flew here Monday to join Queen Eliz abeth and the Duke of Edin burgh who conclude a state visit to Sweden and stayed over officially to watch the Olympic games. Bertil met the Princess at the airport when she arrived with other members of the British nobility. The rumors linking the prince and princess had been heard for more than a year and late in May one of the Stockholm after noon newspapers said, "dare we hope" that there is a romance between them. Comment Refused Buckingham Palace had re fused to comment on the rumors but today Bertil said no. His denial doubtless was is sued with full concurrence of the British royal family which has been more and more out spoken in promptly slapping down the recurrent rumors of romance between Margaret and ncr various escorts. But unlike earliest denials is sued throueh Dress sprrptariev the latest came from the lips of tne handsome, outspoken prince. "The rumors eoneeminff an engagement between Princess Margaret and me are ground less and products of free imagi nation," he said. Tuesday.
