Convention Time
By Olive Starcher
Spring and summer are favorite convention times, and two
Oregon women's organizations recently held state conventions in
Medford. Blue Star Mothers, an organization for mothers of men
and women in the armed services, met here in the county court
house auditorium, and Delta Kappa Gamma, national honorary
sororjty for women in education,- held the state convention last
week end at First Methodist church.
Blue Star Mothers, organized to carry on a charitable and service
program for those in the armed forces and for veterans, as yet has
only a few chapters in Oregon but has many members in mid
western and eastern states. Delta Kappa Gamma seeks to unite
women of the education world, to honor outstanding women edu
cators, to protect their professional interests, to sponsor and support
desirable education legislation and to endow scholarships.
