The hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, in the county court room. It is being held in response to a petition by courthouse personnel asking for the Saturday closure. Many courthouses in the state are op en only Monday through Friday. The Jackson county courthouse is open Saturday mornings. Date of the next budget com mittee meeting will be announc ed later, County Judge Rodney Keating said. Requests for 10 per cent salary increases for most of the courthouse person nel is the next major project facing the committee. Teamsters Suspend Organization Plan Portland (U.R) Teamsters Union officials said here today they would suspend their organ izational campaign at Portland and Coos Bay docks pending a National Labor Relations board hearing on charges of unfair picketing. A court hearing scheduled for i tomorrow on the Portland pick i eting would be unnecessary as a ! result of the stipulation signed i by Clifford D. O'Brien, attorney for the union, and lawyers of the NLRB. A similar stipulation was filed last Monday on the Coos Bay picketing and result i ed in a halt to demonstrations there Dock users at Coos Bay and Terminal No. 1 in Portland fil ed unfair labor practices charg es with the NLRB after dock employees refused to handle lumber hauled to the docks by non-union truck drivers. The truckers are the objects of the teamster campaign. Stevenson Backers See Boost in Oregon Portland (U.R) A d 1 a i Stevenson's strong showing will give a tremendous boost to the Oregon campaign to write in his name in the May 18 primary," was the statement of Stevenson's campaign committee here today. Mrs. Marguerite E. Berg, Sa lem, and Alfred H. Corbett, Portland, co-chairman of the Oregon Stevenson for president committee, said the Illinois pri mary "shows the strength we knew was there and places the Minnesota primary in its proper setting." They said that in Illinois Stev enson scored what they termed a "civil rights victory over Sen. Estes Kefauver by rolling up a vote of 25.000.to 16 votes in the four most populous Negro dis tricts." O'Connor said the latest pro duction estimates from manu facturers of Salk polio vaccine indicate that all individuals 19 years of age and under and all pregnant women can be pro vided with two shots of vac cine before the epidemic period begins July 10. The Hudson River is 306 miles long from its source in Essex County, N.Y., to Upper New York Bay. Eugene Man Named By Royal Arch Masons Astoria (U.R) Delegates to the Masonic state conclave closed out their three-day meet ing here yesterday. Highlighting the closing activi ties of the group were election of a full slate of officers by the Knights Templars, the Royal and Select Masons and the Royal Arch Masons. Named, as grand high priest of the Royal Arch Masons was Lyman C. Palmer, Eugene. Ray E. Allen was named grand com mander of the Knights Templars and Fred Forester, Albany, Grand Master of the Royal and Select Masons. (U.R) Vice President Carlos P. Garcia Wed nesday pledged Filipino sup port to any bid of Japan to join the Southeast Asia Treaty Or ganization SEATO. Garcia, who is also foreign secretary, told a press confer ence in Tagaytay City that the Philippines would not oppose a Japanese plan to join the eight nation alliance. The current members are the United States, Britain, Austra lia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Thailand, France and The Philip pines. Garcia said the addition of Japan would bolster SEATO's strength.
