ril 6 and 7, at the high school au
ditorium. Curtain time is sched

cludes the sixty-member high
school choir, with specialty num
bers by a selected group of high
school students, and an orches
tra ensemble that will provide
the instrumental a c c o mpani

Two Medford Women
Visit in California
Mrs. Charles W. Tennant, 1008
Winchester avenue, and Mrs.
Wilbur Hawley, 824 West Four
teenth street, will return today
after spending a week in Cali
fornia. The two visited the Haw
ley's son, Bill, who is taking bas
ic Air Force training at Park Air
Force base near Hayward. He
entered the USAF in February.
The two women made the trip
south by car.
Breakfast Planned
For Next Sunday
Ladies' Mounted troop is plan
ning a "buckaroo breakfast"
Sunday, April 8, at the Posse
clubhouse. Breakfast will be
served from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. .
Mrs. Roy Vague, chairman,
will be assisted by Mrs. Mac
Lemmon and Mrs. Sam Keim.
Breakfast will be followed by
an impromptu playday in prep
aration for the summer season.

Two PTA magazine chairmen
from Medford will be honored
at the 1956 convention of Ore
gon Congress of Parents and
Teachers as a result of winning
two state awards during a re
cent National Parent and Teach
er magazine prpmotion week.
The two women are Mrs. Charles
Bird, magazine chairman for
Medford Council of Parent
Teacher associations, and Mrs.
Cecil Martin, magazine chair
man for Jackson Parent-Teacher
association.
.News of the awards was re
ceived here from Mrs. Floyd
Barrett, Oregon Congress maga
zine chairman. A promotion
certificate will be presented to
Mrs.. Bird, Mrs. Barrett - having
judged her efforts to promote
magazine sales the most out
standing among the 33 city PTA
councils in the state.
As Mrs. Martin's award. Jack
son PTA will be presented a
certificate of - accomplishment
for having sold the largest num
ber oje magazine subscriptions
among the state's PTA units.
Both women will have their
pictures published in the Ore
gon Parent - Teacher .bulletin
and a brief history of the Jack
son unit will also be published.
During the annual convention,
they will be honored guests at
a luncheon for magazine chair
men, and their awards will be
presented. -
Mrs. Roland Holmes, chairman
of the Medford Council of Parent-Teacher
associations, states
that other Medford units also
made an excellent record in the
contest. Roosevelt and Lincoln
units tied for second place witfy
one of the larger Portland units.

A guest day tea has been plan
ned by Wednesday Study club
for April 4.; It will be held at
Girls Community club at 2 p.m.
and Mrs. Susan Campbell will
provide the program.

The Vincents, who were neigh
bors of Mrs. Melhart at Little
Falls, Minn., for 'over 30 years,
were en route home after spend

logg Jr., 10-year-old son of Mr.
and Mrs. Ogden Kellogg, route
1, left by air last Friday for
Pasadena, Calif., where he
joined his grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. W. S. Kellogg. ,
He and the elder Kelloggs are
to - leave soon from the east
coast for a tour of European
countrfes, returning July 19.
Their itinerary will include
England, Spain, Switzerland,
France, Italy and Denmark. Mr.
Kellogg, a board member of the
National Lawn Tennis associa
tion, will take part in various
international tournaments while
abroad.
