on the annual culture tour plan

students will return to the cam-
pus Sunday night.

at the opera house for a perform
ance of Beethoven's "Solemn

Golden Wedding
To Be Observed
Jacksonville Mr. and Mrs.
Carl D. Garman will be honored
at an open house Easter Sunday
which will observe their golden
wedding anniversary. The event
will be held at the home of the
Garman's son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. K. D. Garman,
2722 Merriman road.
Friends are invited to call on
the honored couple during the
open house, and hours are from
2:30 to 5 o'clock.
The Garmans have lived in
the valley for many years.

nounced that the regular Sunday
evening potluck supper and
square dancing party held each
Sunday evening at the Jackson
County Sheriff's posse grounds
will not be held Sunday, April
1. because of the Easter holiday.
The parties will resume, howev
er, on April 11 at 6:30 p.m. Mr.
Larsen will serve as caller.

Townsend club held Wednesday
at Carpenters' hall. Mrs. Charl
es Boussum, president, conduct
ed the meeting.

Mrs. Clara M. Barry, secretary,
read club material and the pres
ident read a letter from U. S.
Representative John A. Blatnik,
Minnesota.
The Townsend auxiliary will
meet Wednesday, April 4. at
Carpenters' hall for a potluck
luncheon at 12:30 p.m. A meet
ing will follow. Members are in
vited to take friends. .
A Townsend club dinner will
be announced in the near future.
Visitors are welcome at all meetings.
Advanced First Aid I
Training Class Held
A class in standard and ad
vanced American Red Cross first
aid, under the instructions of
LeRoy Williams, has just recent
ly been completed. The class was
held at the home of Mrs. John
Ramos, 141 Cloverlane, for a six
weeks period. Enrolled were
homemakers, PTA workers, Girl
Scout leaders, an interested fa
ther and a policeman.
At the last meeting the group
expressed appreciation to Mr.
Williams by presenting him with
a gift certificate. A gift certifi
cate was also presented to Mrs.
Ramos in appreciation for the
use of her home.
