o Italian Educator Schedules Visit To Medford Area An Italian political leader and educator. Dr. Luigi Rebuzzini, will spend most of a week in Medford in mid-April, it was reported today. Mark, A. Goldy, Medford busi nessman who has been active in international exchange activities, is coordinating plans for Dr. Rebuzzini's visit. According to present plans, the Italian will arrive here Wednes day, April 11, and leave the fol lowing Tuesday, April 17. He is director of the Democratic Po litical school of Milan, and is on a tour of the United States. Medford was selected as a stop because he wished to become acquainted with a smaller com munity, and because the Gov ernmental Affairs Institute, of Washington, which is in charge of his trip, had heard of the hospitality previously accorded other foreign visitors here. Goldy said today he would be glad to receive suggestions about an itinerary for Dr. Rebuzzini, and to hear from those who could undertake part of his en tertainment. The visitor will be accompanied by a state depart ment interpreter, although he has a limited command of Eng lish. His visit here is part of the foreign leader exchange pro gram of the international educa tional exchange service of the state department. General Motors "Jkiare sod Better Thkigs fc More Popie" Keating Reviews County Court Work At Rotary Meeting The widely diversified duties and responsibilities of the Jack son County Court were review ed at the Medford Rotary club meeting Tuesday by County Judge Rodney Keating. Keating lauded the work ac complished by the newly form ed county planning commission, with representation from all im portant communities and areas of Jackson county. The group is making progress in prepar ing an orderly program for county planning, with the coun ty court participating in super visory capacity, he said. Probate duties should not be handled by any county court in Oregon, Keating said. These responsibilities and juvenile work call for specialized train ing. Faces Budget The Court is now facing the job of working with the citizens' committee in preparing a satis factory budget for the county, with forty-hour week and sal ary increases under considera tion. Jackson county's 15.79 per cent share of O and C land rev enues is a "lif esaver" when it comes to the road building and maintenance program, Keating said. The anticipated new road program for 1956 must neces sarily be curtailed because of flood damage to county roads. He told Rotarians.
