Visit Tribune Cub Scout Pack 15, Den 2, members visited the Medford Mail Tribune plant Tuesday .afternoon. On the trip were Lawson Scott, Jimmie Hig ginbotham, James Scott, Gregg Sutten, Fred Swingle, Tim Fay tinger, Glenn Atkinson and T. Higginbotham. Mrs. John Hig ginbotham, den mother, accom panied them. Appointed The Jackson County Association of Insurance Agents has been appointed agent of record concerning insurances for the proposed Rogue Valley Memorial hospital, Lou Cran (iton, of the association announc ed today. Beekeepers to Meet Rogue River Valley Beekeepers will hold their annual meeting in the court house auditorium at 8 p.m. Thursday to elect officers and discuss new developments in the bee business. Workshop A song and dance workshop wil be held for all Girl Scout leaders and others in terested in Girl Scout work Thursday, March 29, at 9:30 a.m. It will be held until 2 p.m. Those who attend should take sack lunches and coffee will be served. Aerial Phoio Richard W. Schlachter, Medford office of the bureau of land management, completed a five-day short course in aerial photography at Oregon State college March 24. The course was designed for for esters who use photography in work and taught by photog raphers from Portland and Eu gene. Pre-Registration McLough lin Junior high -school Parent Teacher association will hold a pre-registration meeting in the boys' - gymnasium Thursday, March 29, at 8 p.m. Parents will be able to meet the school staff and discuss the school's curricu lum and program. Counselors from high school will be present to explain courses of study for parents of students who will be entering the ninth and tenth grades. At Meeting J. F. Christian, Talent, represented the Jackson County Mounted Sheriff's posse at a two-day meeting of Oregon Association of Mounted posses held last Friday and Saturday at Eugene. Christian reported on plans for the 1956 annual Rogue River roundup set for Aug. 10, 11 and 12. A ride for the state group is set for Aug. 18 and 19 at Todd lake. A posse "showdeo" is planned for September at Salem.- A state convention of the association is planned and will be held at Klamath Falls. Date of the convention was not an nounced. Still Serious The condition of Jose Chacon, Ashland, who was injured Saturday evening in an automobile accident near Siskiyou summit, still is in seri ous condition at Sacred Heart hospital, according to attend ants. Theft Reported Dale L. Knutson, Detroit, Mich., report ed to city police yesterday the theft of two hubcaps valued at $18 which were taken from his convertible car while it was parked in a West Main st. lot. X-Ray Clinic The weekly clinic for chest x-rays at Sacred Heart hospital will be held Thursday, March 29 between 2 and 5 p.m. The clinic is spon sored by the Jackson County Health association and is open to the public. , At Osteopathic Mrs. Harry W. Randall, 927 Brookdale rd., is a medical patient at Osteo pathic hospital, and Mrs. James A. Lathrop, 1483 Ridgeway dr., is convalescing from major sur gery which she had there Tues day, attendants reported today. Window Broken A window valued at $65 was broken yes terday at a building at 232 West Fifth street, according to a re port to Medford police from Wil liam F. Cate. Police said it was believed broken by children using a pellet gun. Brother Visits P. E. Cole man, Santa Ana, Calif., left last evening after visiting his sister, Mrs. Harriet Finley, 2250 Crater Lake highway, and his nephew, Kenneth Finley, at Meadow brook farm, Eagle Point. He formerly lived here and also visited former acquaintances. Lone Pine PTA Officers will be elected at a meeting of Lone Pine Parent-Teacher association Thursday, March 29 at 8 p.m., in the school gymnasium. Marshal Inspects The Fire Marshal yesterday inspected five business occupancies and one of fice building. Seven orders were issued for correction of hazard ous conditions. Car Taken An auto owned by Bernice Laverne Bewley, 924 Broad st., was taken last night from the Bewley residence and later recovered parked nearby, according to city police. Permits Issued Building per mits were issued recently to Jean Archibald, to erect a S12, 000 residence at 2229 Ruhl Way; R. E. Lawrence, S12,000 duplex at 817 and 819 Broad st.; and Mrs. Katherine Friesen, $6,000 residence on Niantic st. To Return Mrs. Alice Lynch, a teacher of the fourth grade at Washington school, is expect ed to return Monday after be ing in Phoenix, Ariz., where she was called by the serious illness of a sister. Trash Fire Firemen yester day extinguished a trash fire at the rear of the Fred Gardener residence, 44 Renault st. At 7:50 a.m. today firemen extinguished a fire burning in a pan of grease on a kitchen stove at the Harvey Field residence, 1525 Terrace dr. No damage was reported. Emil R. Goffic, 23, son of Mrs. Anna Goffic, route 4, Grants Pass, recently was assign ed to the 595th field artillery bat talion at Fort Sill, Okla. A sup ply clerk in the battalion's ser vice battery, Goffic entered the Army last October and received basic training at Camp Chafee, Ark. FINISHES SCHOOL Among recent graduates from the atomic, biological and chemi cal defense school at the El Toro Marine Corps air station, Santa Ana, Calif., was Cpl. Loyal D. Severson, son of Simon P. Se verson, 303 Garfield st., Med ford. Before entering the service in 1954, he attended Garfield High school, Los Angeles. SERVING AS OFFICER Navy Lt. Ben R. Schmidt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben H. Schmidt, 3490 South Pacific highway, Medford, is serving as Navy ex change officer at the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean headquarters, in- London, Eng land. Lt. and Mrs. Schmidt and their two children are residing in London. Lt. Schmidt pre viously served as a logistics and supply officer at Charleston, S.C. HOME ON LEAVE Gordon McVay is visiting his mother, Mrs. Robert Guthrie, 1642 Ridgeway dr., while on a 15-day leave from the Navy. He was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval training station, and will report to Treasure Island April 11, to report aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Yorktown. He grad uated from Medford High school last year, and enlisted in the Navy late last year. Address Omitted Address of Richard Theodore Hanson, 22, who was fined $80 and had his license suspended for 30 days in district court Monday is 863 Marshall ave., Medford. Hanson appeared on a reckless driving charge. His address was omitted in the article appearing in Tues day's paper. The board set a minimum of $1 on haircuts last July. It didn't take to it kindly when Mrs. Cor delia Campbell started cutting into barber shop trade with her half-price trims.
