Students of Milo academy,
Milo, Ore. will be in Medford
on Feb. 25 with a full schedule
of events planned. The Academy
Is the boarding academy of the
Seventh-day Adventist church,
representing southern Oregon.
Worship services on Feb. 25,
will be held at 11 a.m., in the
auditorium of the McLoughlin
Jr. High school to accomodate
the anticipated large attendance.
The academy will be in charge
of the service which will feature
their choir under . direction of
W. R. Wheeler.
The Missionary volunteer
meeting will beheld at 4 p.m., in
the McLaughlin Jr. High school
under the auspices of the visit
ing group.
Secular music will highlight
an evening program starting at
7 p.m.' in the McLaughlin Jr.
High school auditorium. The aca
demy band will be featured in
concert and vocal music has also
beeri arranged.

Af Friends Services
The Rev. and Mrs. Leland
Hibbs, missionaries on furlough
from the Friends mission in
Bolivia, will speak at the Friends
church during the opening as
sembly of Sunday school,,, Feb
26 at 9:45 a.m. - .
At 7:30 p.m., they will. have
charge of the entire service, and
show pictures of mission work
in Bolivia and tell of their ex
periences. They have served one
4-year term as supervisors of the
3,000 acre farm on the shore of
Lake Titicaca. The farm is used
as a training ground in agri
culture for the Indians attend
ing the Friends Bible school, and
serves to- support the Bible
school financially from the sale
of products : raised. Both Mr.
and Mrs. Hibbs have been teach
ers in the Bible school, which
offers a 3-year course in train
ing Bolivian national Christians
to be pastors of the local churh
es and teachers in the day

bly of God Sunday schools in
Oregon, one for each 8,000 of the

To San Francisco
The National council of Pres-byterion-men
will convene for
the third Western area meeting
this" weekend at the Sheraton
Palace hotel in San Francisco.
The conference sessions opened
this morning with an address by
Dr. Eugene parson Blake, stated
clerk of the Presbyterian Gener
al assembly, and president of the
National Council of Churches.
The meetings will adjourn Sun
day afternoon. . i
Other key speakers are Elton
Trueblood, chief of religious pol
icy of the US information agen
cy; and the Hon. Howard Pyle,
deputy assistant to the president,
and former governor of Arizona.
The central theme is "Your
Reasonable Service." An attend
ance of about 3,000 men is anti

in its third week.

At a meeting held last Monday
the church council considered a
proposal that two church serv
iceshould be held with one of
them at the same . time as the
Sunday school. It was decided
not to adopt, the plan regularly
before sometime next fall when
it will again be considered. How
ever, double services will be
planned for Palm Sunday and
Easter. A recommendation will
also , be made to the congrega
tion regarding unified services
to be held during, the summer
period.

- The Rev. Haddon Robinson of
New York City assumed .duties
as assistant to the pastor of the
First Baptist church in Medford,
in the Christian Education de
partment. . ...' n.
The . Rev. Mr. Robinson was
graduated from the Bob Jones
university of Greenville, S.C. in
1951. He recently received his
master of theology degree from
the Dallas Theolbgical seminary
in Dallas, Tex.
Before coming to Medford, he
was engaged in extensive evan
gelistic work throughout the
southwest. He plans to continue
evangelistic activity during a
portion of the time that he is
associated with the Medford
church. Robinson has also coiv
ducted a radio ' program "Trea
sure Chest", which was broad
cast in the United States, Cent
ral America and Europe. Some
of these programs directed
against the phiolosophy of Com
munism received special com
mendation from the government
of Liberia. While in Texas, the
pastor directed the Dallas Youth
for Christ organization for two
years and was active in other
youth groups.
Rev. James W. Neely is pastor
of the local church in Medford.

Volk, evangelist, will speak at
both morning and evening ser
vices, the pastor, the. Rev. Ray

Sunday at Assembly
Evangelist William L. Dever
eaux, of Los Angeles, will tell
his life story at the Medford As
sembly of God, 1108 West Main'
St., Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
Evangelist Devereaux will de
scribe his conversion while a
lifeguard and swimmer on the
Atlantic coast. He will speak of
experiences in saving lives dur
ing storms on the Atlantic ocean.
The Sunday night services will
conclude an evangelistic camp
aign. .
Among music features Sunday
evening will be one presented
by the pastor's family, an instru
mental ensemble with vocal solos
and trios.
The women's missionary coun
cil of the church is preparing
plans for a brief presentation of
their work on Sunday, March 4.
Under the leadership of the new
officers, Mrs. Norma Kahl, presi
dent; Mrs. Mildred Jeffery, vice
president; Mrs. Frances Stans
field, secretary; ' and Mrs. June
Nelson, treasurer, the organiza
tion has enlarged their scope of
work.
An informal Bible study group
