Grants Pass Ring
Will Be Fenced
Grants Pass The feud be
tween Wild Bill Savage and Bull
Montana is not over. They have
been signed for another show
down battle this Wednesday
night at the local wrestling
arena.
At the insistence of Savage,
the ring will be fenced in to
keep Montana in the ring. The
two rugged matadors and the
referee will enter the ring and
a wire fence will be closed .up
so that nobody can leave the
ring until the match is over.
Promoter Elton Owen admit
ted that he was not in favor
of this sort of thing but finally
agreed to the fence when the
althletic commission okayed it.
Side Bet Posted
Savage had posted S100 as a
side bet with the Bull that he
can beat him if he can keep him
inside of the ring. Both of their
previous . matches have ended
on the floor. Montana demanded
a fat guarantee for this one but
still insists that he can beat
Savage in or out of the ring.
It was a vicious brawl last
week' with Montana scampering
out of the ring several times to
slow down the rugged attack of
Savage.
Rito Romero was unable to
get a ramatch against popular
Bill Fletcher' but will be on
hand to meet the elusive and
talented Scotty Williams in the
one hour semi final. Romero
wrestled to a draw against
Fletcher last week. .

The 200 -pound 25 -year -old

over the distant left field wall
for the third straight day Mon

moving for his sharp line drives.

Take me. I'm an aircraft worker. And take this ad It tells people how
much time and money they can save by flying.
Advertising like this is one big reason why air transportation has just about
tripled in the past ten years!
And it's a big reason why there are more airplanes to build, more work
for people like me, more money going into the pockets of everyone in the West
And more people flying helps keep the fares down, too. Maybe you've
noticed that airline fares have stayed at about their 1939 leveL Fact is, in
coach fares, they're lower. x
The way I figure it, advertising air travel - or advertising 'most anything
else helps all of us.

Attempt to Ban
Lightner in PCC
Moscow, Ida. (U.R) Univer
sity of Idaho students were re
ported to be distributing peti
tions asking that Al Lightner,
Pacific Coast Conference basketball-official,
be banned from
refereeing Idaho home games.
A spokesman said today the
petitions are the result of a dis
pute between Lightner and Idaho
fans concerning the officiating
of the Idaho-Washington week
end games. v
The argument ensued between
the fans and the referee on the
way to the official's dressing
room after Saturday night's
game. Earlier in the season,
Lightner forfeited the California-
Southern California game after
students threw pennies on the
iloor.
