Dies Early Sunday
Sabin A. Gibbs, 75, of Plaza
apartments, former .manager of
Mason Ehrman and company,
died at a local hospital early
Sunday morning.
Mr. Gibbs was born at Meno
minee, Mich., Feb. 15, 1881. He
was a member of the Tacoma,
Wash., Masonic lodge, the Scot
tish Rite and Hillah Temple of
the Shrine, and a member of the
Medford Elks lodge and Medford
Rotary club. He was in the
wholesale grocery business for
the past 50 years and manager
of Mason Ehrman company for
15 years. He retired in 1951.
He is survived by his wife,
Mabel F. Gibbs; one son, Wil-.
liam; a sister, Mrs. Elias Hamil
ton, Seattle, Wash.; two broth
ers, Elmer C. of Tacoma, Wash.,
and J. Newton Gibbs of McCall,
Ida. .,
Funeral services will be held
at Perl funeral home, Tuesday,
Feb. 21 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev.
D. Kirkland West of the Pres
byterian church will . officiate. ;

Leon McDougall, Medford youth
who underwent an extraordin
ary neart operation last week
at Mayo clinic, is making, a sat
isfactory recovery. The young
man's father, J. A. McDougall,

home to say that the surgeon
who performed the operation
has stated young McDougall's
progress is satisfactory to this
point. The patient is still for the
most part unconscious and re
mains under oxygen. He will be
hospitalized at least two weeks,

Wade was manager of Oak
dale market,' and previously
was employed by Albers milling
company from 1948-52 and. by
the MJB company.
He was born Feb. 16, 1914, in
Des Moines, la. On March 19,
1936, at Des Moines he was mar
ried to Gretchen Hubler, who
survives. A Navy veteran, he en
listed March .3; 1944, and was
discharged Jan. 6, 1946, as an
electrician's mate 3-c, and was
a member of the- American
Legion..
Survivors include a daughter,
Rosalind, two sons, "Tony". and
Christopher; a. sister, Mrs. David
Corderman, and his mother,
Mrs. Leonora Wade, , both of
Des Moines.
Honorary pallbearers will be

Los Angeles (U.R) The 1956
Mobilgas automobile economy
run will be run from Los An
geles to the base of Pike's Peak
near Colorado Springs, Colo.,
March 19-22, it was reported
today.
The annual run is to test the
gasoline mileage potential of
cars under driving conditions
encountered by the average mo
torist. The newly organized Unit
ed States Auto Club will super
vise this year's run.

David . Davis, an Air Force
staff sergeant telephoned his
parents Sunday that he had ar
rived in New York after three
years with the Air Force com
munications in Germany. He is
a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Davis,
310 Genessee st. He will receive
30 days' leave which he. will
spend in the east and then con
tinue to Louisiana where he will
be stationed until next June,
Sergeant Davis is to receive his
discharge then and return to
Medford. His plans now are to
continue his education at Ore
gon State college. Sergeant
Davis is a former Mail Tribune
carrier and an employee at Hub
bard Bros. He graduated, from
Medford High school in 1951 and
enlisted in the service soon after.
He received basic framing at
Parks Air Force .base, Calif., and
technical training at Cheyenne,
Wyo.
