The Rev, C. W. Frost performed the cer emony. ' . - The bride's parents are' 4Mr. and Mrs. Chester A. Brown, 421 West Bartlett street, " and Mr. Brown gave his daughter in mar riage. She wore a white knit uit with avocado green acces sories and her corsage was an orchid. Miss Lois Friesen, the honor attendant, wore a coral knit suit. Her flowers were white hya cinths. Bruce Burchfield, a brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. Leslie Brown served as usher. Mrs. Burchfield sang a solo and Robert and Paul Brown, her brothers, sang a duet. They were accompanied by Miss Grace Iv ersen. The reception was given at the home of the bride's parents; Sisters-in-law of the bride served. They are Mrs. Paul Brown, Mrs. Leslie Brown and Mrs'. Robert Brown. Her sister, Miss Joan Brown, had charge of the guest book. ' ; -.'- J. Among guests at the, wedding was the bride's maternal grand mother, Mrs. Grace. Hunt. Mrs. A. B. Iversen took the place "of the bridegroom's mother, as his parents are deceased. -. The bride's mother wore a teal blue dress and Mrs.'Iversen was dressed in a blue figured dress. School Official To Be Speaker For Republicans Leonard Mayfield, superin tendent of Medford public schools, will speak before Jack son County Republican Women Monday, February 20 on the topic, "Education in relation, to taxes." The session will be held at 12 noon at the YMCA and luncheon will be served. . Hornbuckle, both of Prospect, were married February. 3 at the home of the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Fran cis Hornbuckle, 811 East Jack son street. They made their wed ding trip down the coast to San Francisco and now are living at the Jackson street address. The bride's parents are Mr. 'and Mrs. L. H. McCollum, Pros-, pect. The double-ring ceremony was read by the Rev D. E. Millard at 8 o'clock' in the evening and was attended by members of the two families. J Mrs. Fred Bruegger, Eagle Point; a sister of the bride groom, was the honor attendant and Mr. Bruegger,1 was bestman for his brother-in-law. Miss I Barbara -Bruegger, a niece of the bridegroom lighted the candles. - For her wedding the bride wore an imported wool beige cashmere suit with brown acces sories. Her corsage was an orch id. VV '. V.- The honor attendant wore a knit suit of avocado green with matching accessories. Her cor sage was of pale pink carnations. The rooms were decorated with candelabra holding tapers and bouquets of daffodils and white- stock. . Songs were furnished by .the Rev. Mr Millard, accompanied by Mrs. Carol Clymer. The reception, given by the bridegroom's mother and his sister, Mrs. Fred Bruegger, also was held at the home. The re freshment table was decorated with white and yellow flowers. The bride is employed at the Whistle Stop cafe and the bride groom is employed at Timber Products corporation. Both at tended Prospect high school. During the dinner Mrs; Fred Graten, president of the club, introduced guests of the Scottish Rite bodies - including Ralph Lue, honorary of the supreme council of Scottish Rite Masons; Fred Purdin, KCCH, secretary of all Masonic bodies of Medford and district deputy to the grand master of the grand . lodge of Oregon; Clay Lee, wise master of Rose ?roix;.u Ira Canfield, KCCH; RayMcVay, KCCH. Included will be religious and . classical numbrs as . well as songs from popular Broadway productions. - This will be the fourth con cert in the 1955-56- series of the Jackson County Civic Music association. The group will include "Hal lelujah" from the oratorio, 'The Mount of Olives," 'by Beethoven in the first section of the pro gram, and in that group also will be Schubert's "The Omipo tence," and others. ' Their second group has selec tions composed by Jean Sibelius, Harvey Enders, Jean Villard and Rossini, and after inter mission they will sing Part 4 of the "The Testament of Free dom," by Randall Thompson. The latter is taken from pas sages of writings by Thomas Jefferson, written during the American Revolution and the words are applicable to the world situation in 1943 when Mr. Thompson composed the works. The latter part of the program continues with spirituals and closes with numbers from "The Desert Song," "South Pacific," and compositions by Rodgers and Hammerstein. . The fifth and final concert of the association series will be Tuesday, March 13 .when Maurice Wilk, violinist, will ap pear here. . Oak Grove PTA To Hold Party Oak Grove Parent-Teacher as sociation has planned a dessert card party as this years' money making project. The party- will be held Wednesday, February 22, with dessert to be served at 7:30 p.m. Contract .bridge, auction bridge, whist, pinochle and other games will be played. Each table will receive a prize, and each prize will be awarded on a "jump-about" basis. Some tables will receive a prize, and each prize for high score, some for low score and some on other points. Ward, are in charge of the event. -- Union Daughters Honor Member On 93rd Birthday Mrs. - Maude Holmes, who ob served her 93rd birthday Feb ruary 14, was honored at a card shower that day during a meet ing of Elta Deuel Hubbs tent, Daughters of Union Veterans, of which she is a member.
