Arneb, New New.Zealand (U.R) A U.S. Navy plane missing in the Antarctic with seven ' men since Friday has been located and all aboard are believed unharm ed, the Navy reported today. . A message to rear'Adm. Rich ard E. Byrd's Flagship from the search-rescue, headquarters at Little America said the missing plane, a Gruman "Otter," was spotted by Lt. D. M. Sullivan, the task force photographic Of ficer. Sights Downed Plane Sullivan, a naval aviator and member of a rescue" party sent by the ship East Wind from McMurdo Sound, sighted the downed aircraft from another Otter but was unable to land at the scene. He reported the seven men. "appeared un harmed." Little America headquarters said rescue operations would continue through use of heli copters from the American base. The Icebreaker Glacier was or dered to rush as close as possible to the ice shelf with one of the helicopters. Missing Since Friday "The missing . Otter, a . single engine plane equipped with wheels and ski runners for land ing on the ice and snow took off Friday from an advance base 230 miles from the South Pole to Little America. - The crew members aboard the Boy Shot for 'Annoying7 Birds Santa Rosa, Calif. (U.R) Edwin W. Hoag, 65, Santa Rosa, was free on $2,500 bail today after wounding a 12-year-old boy with a shot gun for "annoy ing my birds." Hoag was bookea at Sonoma County jail on charges of assault with a deadly, weapon after fir ing the 16-gauge blast which wounded Billy Kutz of this city. Two other boys, playing a short distance away, - were injured slightly by pellets from the gun. Kutz was reported in good condition in the county hospital, with wounds in his right arm, face and head. Minor injuries were suffered by Carl Nevarez, 9, and Peter Reed. Police said that Hoag at first resisted arrest and pointed his shot gun at Deputy Sheriff Ben Schauers, but was persuaded to put the weapon down.' He had been drinking, they said. Disabled Vets May Get Tax Exemptions Disabled war veterans and war widows must apply by April I' for state property tax exemp tions, the Oregon department of veteran's affairs has announced Those entitled are exempt $7,500 of the true cash value of the property. Application is filed with the county assessor. Those entitled to the exemp tion are veterans of all wars in cluding the Korean conflict who have disabilities' of 40 per cent or more, certified by the veter ans administration, or a branch of the armed forces, regardless of income; war veterans 40 per cent or more disabled certified by their physician and the coun ty health officer, provided -they received no more than $2,500 gross income in the past calen der year; unremarried widows of veterans of any war, regardless of ' income; and all veterans of the Indian,. Mexican or Spanish American wars, regardless of dis ability or amount of income. Further information is avail able from county assessors. 26 Children Victims Of Food Poisoning Brethren. Mich. (U.R) Twentv-six children were hos pitalized . and more ; than 100 others were treated last night for food Doisoning blamed on potato salad served at a school lunch. None of the children was in serious condition, a spokesman at a hospital in nearby jvianisxee said. Brethren is a village of 110 residents 23 miles from here. Cost of the addition is estimated at $3,114,572. The new construction is aimed to meet the cement requirements of Snake river valley dams. Machinery is scheduled - to start arriving by the middle of the year and the company hopes to have the new installation complete by Dec. 15. Mostly Fair Weather Prevails in Nation By UNITED PRESS .
