AmtKmm NEW ROGUE VALLEY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ILIETTTTIEM TO INDIVIDUALS GROUPS and WOMEN S CMC ORGANIZATION All men and Women and eivie organizations in our county want to have a part in our new Rogue Valley Memo rial Hospital, too or so it seems from the number of inquiries we have been receiving asking how they can be of help. Because we have had so many calls about this and because the building of this new hospital means so much to us all, we are writing to give you information you may have been wanting. 1st How can individuals and groups help? The most important way right now is to assist in raising funds to make our hospital possible. This may be done by you or your organization subscribing for a memorial or a membership in whatever amount you feel you can afford. These pledges do not have to be paid for ail at once but can be arranged to cover a period of time. The names of all persons and organizations taking a memorial or membership will be listed in the lobby of the new hospital so future generations will . -know you have helped.' In order to have a voting membership $100 or more must be subscribed. This will enable you or your group to have a voice in the choosing of board members for the hospital through the years. This is to be a community-owrted and-controlled, nonprofit hospital directed by a board you .can help elect. .. We will be glad to provide you with a subscription contract for your organization to sign should you wish to help.; These should be signed by proper officers or a committee. 2nd Are there other ways individuals and groups can help? Yes, there is a very important way. There are a number of items badly needed by the hospital which will save lives and help restore health to many of our valley people. These have not been listed on the original estimates and it is hoped they may be provided either now or later on. Enclosed is a list of special equipment and approximate price of each piece. If you or your group wishes to purchase a piece of equipment as your contribution, this will also . , be listed in the lobby and credit given. ' If you select any items please telephone 3-4579 and we will tell you whether that item has since been reserved by some other person or organization. This will avoid duplication. Prompt action will give you a better choice. We feel sure you are all vitally concerned with this' program to make ours a better, healthier community. We know, too, you will want to have a part in it. If we have not sufficiently answered your questions, please let us know. Many persons and organizations have already subscribed and we feel sure there are others who plan to.. It is our sincere hope you will bring this up with your officers and membership as soon as possible. To insure the life of a new-born child, it is necessary that an incubator be maintained in the delivery room at all times. STRYKER FRAME - 2 at 300 Used for patients with back injuries who must be kept perfectly still and net moved and yet who must be . turned from lying on back to lying on stomach. PATI ENT ' LI FTER- .;...r...;-........L:.-:...:....v-----w---.: Just as it says lifts patient from bed to wheel chair and back, much the same as a car jack works, but enables-a 100-pound nurse to lift a 300-pound patient. , . INCUBATORS FOR CHILDREN'S, WARD For newborn babies who become ill within a few days of leaving the hospital and who must have special temperature, humidity and perhaps oxygen. , 1 at 300 2 at 250 INCUBATORS CROUPETTE . FOR NURSERY 6 at 4 at 250 200 These are used for children with upper respiratory infections when they need oxygen or aerosol therapy. They are as safe from the curiosity of a small child as anything of this nature can be. Children are likely to pull out, break or destroy the very item which is essential to making them well. It is also essential that at least one extra canopy and atomizer assemoiy oe provmeo. YOUTH BEDS - - - ----- - Beds to hospitalize those patients too small for an adult's bed and too big for a crib. The various positions into which the spring can be bent are of no value when the size of the patient is such that the whole body can fit in the space left undisturbed when the spring is positioned. These too are obtainable with springs which can be positioned as tor adults. INSTRUMENT TABLES. 10 at 150 For use in surgery to keep instruments readily available to the surgeon, but which can easily be moved out of his way when occasion demands it. ' CAST CUTTER.. ... l.::.:...:::......:.,.,.. .. 2 at 100 This is a piece of equipment which does just what it says cuts easts in short order so that the patient , gets the agonizing and nerve-wracking ordeal over with in a hurry. SINGLE AND DOUBLE BASIN STANDS Used in surgery for sterile solutions required in the course of operations. INHALATORS 1. ... 12 at 100 3 at 100 Used for patients that must have the air saturated with moisture or who must inhale special vaporized medication. OVERBED TABLES 80 at 75 This is the type of table which can be raised or lowered, pulled over the bed and pushed away from it easily Jy patient or nurse, from which the patient generally takes his food. This may be used as a book rest when reading and when the top is lifted has a mirror and space for cosmetics or shaving gear. BLOOD PRESSURE APPARATUS ......... 14 at 75 Used in surgery to watch the patient's condition while ha is under anesthetic and also to keep close control of patients during post-operative care when the seriousness of the patient's condition warrants it. Instrument used for eye and ear examinations when patients indicate symptoms which would require further checking by the physician.. . They must be sturdy, not give off excessive heat, able to be turned down for patient's reading and turned up for indi rect light without wires twisting or breaking, or requiring constant maintenance to keep clean, presentable, and in good working order. ' INFUSION ARM AID .... ... . .. ... .... .. .. .. ... .. ... . ;: 18 at 20 A lightweight strong, shield type of thing which fastens onto the patient's arm and keep it rigid when . v ( blood or intravenous solution is being given. TRANSFUSION STANDARDS . .. . . . 80 at 16 - Portable to be attached to bed or stretcher. These standards should actually be attached to every bed in the ; hospital to make a place readily available at which blood or intravenous solutions can be hung, for frequently these must be given immediately and there is not time to find standards of the floor variety.
