(Fourteen Mothers i Raise Large Sum . In Annual March Eagle Point Fourteen moth ers of the Eagle Point Lions auxiliary participated in the Mothers march Monday evening which netted a total of $225.78 for the March 01 Dimes drive. After the march the group met at the home of Mrs. James Clarke for coffee and dessert. " "ilrs. Beginning January 4, a committee of Legion' Auxiliary members left their homes, some as early as 5 a.m., five days a week to prepare and serve breakfast at the Elks club for the campaign workers. Pictured here are (left to right) Mrs. Herbert Gifford, auxiliary president; Mrs. Merle Jarmin and Mrs. H. C. Goldsmith. The last two were at the club by 5 o'clock every morning x and other workers were on hand somewhat later. Crews averag ed seven a day, and about 20 women worked throughout the month. Meals served number ed from as many as 240 last Monday; ' aver aged about 145 daily. The project will end. with a dinner Monday night. Legion women planned menus and bought supplies as well as helping to prepare and serve the breakfasts. Mrs. Goldsmith, project chairman, is also wel fare chairman for the auxiliary and believes. ' the time and work were worthwhile . since -the women earned a substantial sum for the welfare fund. Calls on the fund have been more numerous than in past winters. An invitation is also extended to inactive members. .- " - --.:,-- Two Join Posse At Last Meeting; Party Announced Keith Harrison- and Miss Dee Ann Barnes became members of the Junior posse at a meeting of the young people's riding group Thursday evening at the Jack' son County Mounted Sheriffs posse club house. The session was the first of the 1956 term- Parents of members were en tertained at the meeting and a valentine party was planned for Saturday, February 11 at , 7:30 p.m'., at the club house. Refreshments were served and members met for bowling at the Medford Bowling lanes after the meeting. r . - . ' ., Recent activities of the group include a skating party January 28 ; at Ashland . skating . rink which : followed an executive meeting held earlier that eve ning at the L. . M.1 Hamilton home. Mrs. Hamilton was chape- rone and served refreshments A toboggan party also . was held during January when the group went to the Union Creek ski run. After the playing of the Polish and American national anthems, Ambassador Jacobs was invited to the box of Foreign7 Minister Stanislaw Skrzeszewski and Minister of Culture and - Art Wlodzimierz Sokorski.
