Anonymous Calls Reported To Police Several Medford junior high school girls, spending the night together, telephoned for. sever al orders of groceries and a pre scription to be delivered at the home of a junior high school teacher Saturday evening, ac cording to city police. The girls, who made repeated anonymous phone calls to the woman's home, also arranged to have insurance agents a n d photographers call at her house. It was reported to city police Sunday that the 'identity of the girls had been established and that no complaint would be fil ed. Their parents have agreed to make restitution to the mer chants, and to see that apologies are made to others involved. Senate Investigators Study Prisoner Issue Washington (U.R) Senate investigators today were try ing to determine whether the Army has branded some 250 former Korean war prisoners as traitors without proper trial. The Subcommittee on Consti tutional Rights disclosed the Army has given another gov ernment agency secret informa tion alleging the men collabor ated with the enemy. As a re sult they have been denied gov ernment benefit payments for the time they were imprisoned. The subcommittee, headed by Sen. 'Thomas C. Hennings Jr., (D-Mo.), said it was checking to determine whether the govern ment action is constitutional. It also wants to know whether the men were being branded as traitors without trial. Pride Turns Over ' 7th Fleet Command Taipei, Formosa (U.R) Vice Adrn. Alfred M. Pride turned over command of the U.S. Sev enth Fleet to Vice Adm. Stuart H. Ingersoll early today in a ceremony at Buckner Bay. The Seventh Fleet is charged with protecting Formosa and the Pescadores as well as U. S. bases in Formosa. Pride had commanded the Seventh Fleet since Dec. 1, 1953. He will take over command of U.S. Pacific Fleet Air with head quarters at San Diego. Ingersoll's laSt. post was a chief of staff of the U. S. At lantic fleet. . Funeral Services For Applegate Man Applegate Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Ingle wood, Calif., for Charles H. Smith, 71, of route 1, box 22A, Applegate. He died in Los Ange les Dec. 17. Pierce Brothers mor tuary of Inglewood is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith, a resident of the Applegate area for the past sev eral years, was born in Phillip stone, Pa., on April 18, 1884. With his wife, Mr. Smith went to Los Angeles to visit relatives for the Thanksgiving holidays, when he became ill and was hos pitalized. He was a retired rock smith. The couple had lived here about six years. -He also is survived by a daugh ter, Mrs. Kenneth G. Thompson, the former Geralda Smith, of Thompson creek, and a son, Lee Smith, Hollywood, Calif.
