CX folk lore expert, Mrs. Rich ardson lost the poundage and won the cash on NBC-TV's "The Big Surprise" last Saturday af ter building up her stake on five previous appearances on the show. The S100,000 was the largest prize ever toted away from a give-away show. It topped the S64t000 won by Marine Capt. .Richard McCutchen and psych- ologist Joyce Brothers on CBS TV's "The $64,000 Question." Mrs. Richardson earned it. 0 "I'm still shaking," she said af ter the show. "My knees are knocking and all I want to do is go home and go to bed. I've lost so much weight on the show, my dresses don't fit me anymore." Charities Will Benefit e The sprightly great-grand mother, a native ' of Decherd, Tenn., who now lives in Los An geles, said she would contribute some of her winnings to three cliWities. A source close to her said Mrs. Richardson's donation would be substantial, perhaps as much as $30,000. Mrs. Richardson had some trouble with "The Streets of La redo." She tackled it three times before she got it right. After wards, she explained: "I've known that song for 100 years. I didn't forget it the guitar just confused me." to mothers of small children playing nearby. The community is grateful to Mr. Bear for his efforts and expense in eliminat ing this eye-sore in the commu nity. Mrs. Robert Parshall has re ceived word from her sont Pvt. Thomas Hilsabeck, who is with the replacement division of the U. S. Army stationed in Stutt gart, Germany, that he is re covering nicely from a serious injury sustained in line of duty, and that it will not be necessary to amputate'his foot, as was fear ed at the time of the accident. Mr. and Mrs. Emory Parshall returned Dec. 8 from Redding, Calif., where Mrs. Parshall underwent major surgery. The trick was for the woman to bounce three tennis balls at her husband and for him to catch each one in a hollow tube. Then, he had to move to a wastebasket and let the ball drop into it.
