Tot is believed only infant of his weight to live more than few houTS.(International) ROGUE RIVER Former Resident Passes Roeue River Mrs. Gunnar Wogan received a telephone message Friday from Mrs. Tru man Drew informing Mrs. Wo gan of Mr. Drew's death Thanks giving day in a Eugene hospital. Mr. Drew was known to be in poor health but his death came as a shock to many friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Drew, interior decorators, made their home in Rogue River several years prior to moving to Eugene early this year. Their son, Truman Jr., is a student at , Oregon State col lege. Mr. Drew was active in the Lions club and the Boosters "club in Rogue River. Funeral services were to be held Sunday In Willows, Calif. College students home for Thanksgiving vacation included Miss Kara Lee Irwin, from Lewis and Clark; Loyd Morrow, Bobby Hoover, and Cletus Dailey, from Ashland, and Eddie Lilly from Oregon State. Westminister Fellowship Group met Saturday evening so that several members who were returning to college Sunday could attend. Congregations of three Rogue River churches met for Thanks giving services Thursday morn ing at 10 a.m. in the Presby terian church. Pastors from the Church of God and the Assem bly of God joined the Rev. Floyd Barnett in the hour of worship. The Rev. E. D. Havermann of the Assembly of God read the scripture and the message was brought by the Rev. Mrs. Haver mann. The pastoral prayer was led by the Rev. C. E. Farrell, of the Church of God, and Mrs. Farrell sang "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." Mrs. Robert Brown sang "Thanks Be To God." The Rev. David Barnett of Klamath Falls read the bene diction. Mrs. Robert Hargitt drove to an Francisco to spend a week with her husband, who has been in San Diego where he was sta tioned with the Navy. Hargitt is en route to Japan for a seven weeks tour of duty. Miss Audrey Brown accompanied Mrs. Har gitt to San Francisco and will visit her father, Robert Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weaver were hosts to a family Thanks giving dinner in the Grange dining hall. Guests from Grants Pass were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Weaver and children, Lynn, Pam and Larry; Mr. and Mrs Golie Patrick and children Sher- ri, Walter and Kathy; Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Kelley and son Rusty; Mr. and Mrs. Cabot Smith and children Sally and Jerry; and the Weaver's children, Carol Ann, Charles and Bill. Mrs. Amelia Vanscoter and son Alfred were dinner guests Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Morrow. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Clark spent Thanksgiving in Phoenix with Clarks brother. Row Miss MyrleHayward of Ingle- wood, Calif., niece of Mrs. Ed ward Lilly, is making her home with, the Lilly's and attending Roeue River High school. Mrs. Adella Gregg and R. C. Miller, both of Rogue" River, were married Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. in The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nev. The Rev. John Whitehead performed the cere mony. Mrs. Jack Ward of Med lord and Jesse Miller, Mr. Mil lers son. of Riverside, Calif., who is stationed there with the U. S. Air Force, were their at tendants. Other guests were Mr. Ward and Mrs. Jesse Miller and infant son. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are residing at Mrs. Millers ranch on Highway 99 South. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Campbell were guests of Mrs. Campbell's son, Hugh Holt, in Grants Pass, Thanksgiving Day. Here for a week's visit with Mrs. Mary Williamson and son Robert and family, were Mrs. Williamsons brother, Carl Rob ertson, and her sister Mrs. Ar thur Blackler and Mr. Blackler of Tacoma, Wash. Additional guests at the Williamson home for Thanksgiving dinner were Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Burkett. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Morrow and four children went to Glen dale, Ore., for Thanksgiving day with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hum phreys and family. Baby Bret Bamforth was born early Saturday morning in a Medford hospital. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bamforth. o'f Medford. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bamforth of Wallers Old Inn in Roeue River. While Mr. and Mrs. ' Earl Weaver, daughter Carol' Ann and sons Bill and Charles, are vacationing in California and Arizona, their store, Weavers Cash market, will be managed by their daughter, Mrs. G. E. Patrick, with the assistance of Mr, Patrick and Mrs. Chapman HUger. The Weavers will stop in Fillmore, Calif., their former home, to visit friends. . In. Casa Grande, Ariz., they will visit Mrs. Weaver's mother, Mrs. R. E. McNatt. They will also attend the Old Timers picnic in Casa Grande. Burton "patrolled" the area until he attracted the suspect. When the suspect attempted to grab Burton he was shot and killed. Barmaid's Jeans Foil Heroine Role London U.R) Pretty bar maid Mara Halliday might have been a heroine today except for a faulty zipper on her blue jeans. The 19-year-old blonde was working in a London pub Sun day when she sav four thieves fleeing from officers of the pub's loan club. She dashed aft er the robbers and was about to grab one by the coattails when she felt a draft and noticed that passersby were ogling her.' She looked clown to see her jeans slither in the direction of her shoes. By the time Mara re stored the jeans to their proper positions the thieves had fled in a getaway car. San Francisco (U.P.) Charles Duncan, first press agent for the Golden Gate bridge from which more than 150 persons have leaped to their deaths, jumped Saturday from a fourth floor window at the San Francisco hospital and was killed instantly He was 71.
