J. and Grace McKeown, 1225 East 11th st., to erect a $4,000 addition to their residence. - Condition "Good" The condi tion of Mrs. Katie Landing, 201 South Orange st., was reported Saturday as "good," at Commu nity hospital. She was taken there Friday in the late after noon by Medford Ambulance at tendants after she had fallen at her home and received a hip Injury, according to the ambu.- lance attendants. Building Entered City police said they discovered a break and entry about 2 a.m. Saturday at the Towne Beauty shoppe, 36 South Central ave. So far as could be learned nothing was jfaken from the shop, officers said. To gain entry, a screen was cut on a door at the rear of the building. Accidents A parked car .owned by Edward Benjamin Martin, Portland, was struck by an auto driven by Myrtle Hurst " Patterson, Orinda, Calif., at 519 North Grape st., Thursday, ac cording to city police. Wednes day, vehicles operated by Byron Virtice Turner, 121 King st., and Robert S. Basey, 1324 Win chester ave. collided in front of 121 King st. Basey was cited by city police for not having an op erator's license on his person. Bail Posted John David Scott Anderson, 56, Allen hotel, posted $100 bail yesterday morning on a charge of driving a motor ve hicle while under influence of intoxicating liquor, police re ported. They said no date had been set for appearance in city court. He was arrested Friday night on South Central ave. Po lice said also that Keith Rogers Sherer, 20, PO Box 238, Jack sonville, was fined $25 in munic ipal court on a charge of reckless driving, liquor involved. He was arrested early Saturday morn ing on North Riverside ave. Mercy Flight A Gold Beach polio patient, James Turel, was flown to Eugene Saturday morn ing by a Mercy Flights plane from Medford. He was partially paralyzed in both legs, and was accompanied on the trip by his wife. He was the 423rd patient carried by planes of the nor profit air ambulance service in the nearly six years it has been in operation. The flight was made in the twin-engine Cessna plane, as the two new Beech- craft planes were grounded last week pending settlement of reg istration delays. Police said they were told the woman may be using the names Doris Prince or Doris Iris Prince. Enters Hospital E. H. Mann, 47 Rose ave., member of the state house of representatives from Jackson county, entered Sacred Heart hospital for medi cal attention last week, it was reported Saturday. He will be there for several days, the re port indicated. Obituaries GUY HAMMITTEE Funeral services for Guy E. Hammittee, 68, who died Wednesday at Camp White Dom iciliary, will be held in the Camp White chapel at 10 ajn. Tuesday with Chaplain Albert S. Feller officiating. Committal will be in Camp White ceme tery. Conger - Morris funeral home is in charge of arrange ments. Mr. Hammittee was born in Portland, Ore., June 17, 1887. He enlisted in the Army April 17, 1917, and was discharged Feb. 26, 1919, at Camp Lewis, Wash., as a sergeant in the Medi cal department. Among his survivors is a sis ter, Mrs. Merle LeDoux, Port land, Ore. LAURA DAVIDSON Funeral services for Laura Davidson of Prospect who died Thursday will be held at Con-eer-Morris chapel at .9:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Gerald Gardner of the Nazarene church, Prospect, officiating. Committal will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Pall bearers will be, utner Rogers. Joseph Josephson, Clif- ord Clark, Art Dorsan ana George .Hubbard. Mrs. Davidson was born March 4, 1892, at Willow Spring, Mo. On April 10, 1909, she was mar ried to James M. who preceded her in death in August this year. She had made her home in Pros pect for the past nine years. Survivors include three daugh ters, Mrs. Artie (Marguerite) Holmes, Prospect; Mrs. Pearlie Barnes, Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs. Helen Wilson, Prospect; two sons, Robert Davidson, Isolation; Calif.; and Harold, Weston, Mont; three sisters, Pearl Mc Comas, Minden, La.; Alma O'Mally, Scammon, Kan.; Maud Ma Ghee, Coffeeville, Kan.; one brother Jesse McCart, Chino, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. Risley, who died Thursday at his home, - 35 North Columbus ave., will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the First Metho dist church with Dr. J. Thomas Dixon, assistant pastor, officiat ing. Committal services will be conducted by Medford Masonic lodge No. 103, AF and AM. In terment will be in Siskiyou Me morial park. Chapel Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers will be Carl Oestreich, Earl Knight, Lloyd Hamlin, Art Carroll, Ole Skoog, and Fred Kahler. Honorary pall bearers will -be Jack Spafford, Frank Boone, Al Bradford, Charles Clemens, Orville Hamer, and Fay King. . The body will be at the Mor tuary today. Mr. Risley, son of Noah and Harriet Spry Risley, was born in Henrietta, Tex., Feb. 28, 1888. He was married in Portland, Ore., Oct. 14, 1917, to Ruth E. Oxford, who survives. He was a veteran of World War I, having enlisted in the Army in 1918 and served with the 41st Company, 11th battal ion, 165th depot brigade. He was a resident of Oregon more than 40 years. He was in business for many years in Portland, where he was also secretary-treasurer for the Oregon State Board of Barber Examiners for six years. On coming to Medford in 1944, Mr. Risley purchased the barber shop at Camp White. In 1952 he bought the Central Bar ber shop, which he operated until his 'death. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Medford, and was prominent in Masonic activities as a member of Med ford Lodge No. 103, AF and AM, the Medford Royal Arch Masons No. 32; and the Malta Com mandery No. 4 of Ashland. He was present Illustrious Master of Table Rock Council No. 15, Med ford, and was Royal Patron of Roxy Ann. Court, Order of the Amaranth! He was also a mem ber of American Legion Post 15, Medford. ' He was also a member and past-president of the Medford Local 269, Journeyman's Barber Union, and a member of Asso ciated Master Barbers associa tion. Besides his wife, other sur vivors are two daughters, Mrs. Elva L. Wiley, Portland, and Mrs. Zlotta E. Cash, Roseburg; two sisters, Mrs. Blanch Left wich, Lake: Grove, Ore., and Mrs. Barbara Phipps, Portland; two brothers, Mark, of Oklahoma City, and Ben, of Longview, Wash.; and six grandchildren. TO SPEAK James Harry Mc Reynolds, a member of the Chris tian Science, board of lectur shin. will sDeak at the Medford High school auditorium at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. .28, on the effec tiveness of scientific prayer in solving everyday problems. Clemens, 90, who lived and was employed at Hill- crest Orchards, more than 20 years, died in a local hospital Saturday. Funeral arrangements are pending at Chapel Mortuary. The dam, when completed, will be the world's second largest and the biggest in India. Bulganin described the site as "tremendous, grand, marvelous." A crowd of 50,000 greeted the Russian leaders on their arrival. Major Reshuffle Gives Secret Police Power Berlin (U.R) Communist East Germany announced Saturday a major government reshuffle which gave cabinet status to the dreaded Secret Police and invested it with new power to crush opposition in the Soviet zone. . The drastic move coincided with an invitation to the West German government to begin negotiations on formation of a Kremlin-advocate'd "all German council" as the first step toward unification of Germany a move sure to be rejected by Bonn. The reshuffle raised the secret Police office to a ministry and appointed Ernst Wollweber, one of the Kremlin's veteran secret agents, to head the department. Wollweber, 56, has served the Communists since his youth as an agent and skilled saboteur. A press office announcement called it a "measure to strength en and improve the work of the state apparatus." Pitts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pitts, 1162 Court st., Medford, is taking Marine recruit training in San Diego, according to a Marine Corps news release. He is scheduled to complete the 10-week course about the middle of December, and will later be re-assigned for further training. Railroad officials said nine cars of a 38-car train jackknifed and flipped over for no apparent reason.
