CALL FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the
South Bear Creek Sanitary District
of Jackson County. Oregon, will re
ceive sealed bids up to 7:30 rM. De
cember 2. 1955. at the Office of A. D.
Harvey Sc S. C. Watkins. Consulting
ineineers. Koom i toiay Building,
Medford, Oregon, for furnishing all
materials and constructing a sanitary
trunk sewer system complete in
operating condition. Proposals will be
pubuclv opened and read aloud.
Proposals shall be in accordance
with the Plans. Specifications and
Contract documents now on file with
the Consulting Engineers. A. D. Har
vey & S. C. Watkins. Room 21. Goldy
Building. Medford, Oregon. Copies of
plans and specifications may be ob
tained from the Engineers upon
furnishing a deposit of $25. for each
set. such deposit will Be returned to
contractors actually submitting bids
upon the return of the plans and
. specifications to the Engineers in

of bids. A charge of $5.00 to cover
cost of reproduction will be made in
the event planholder does not file a
bid.
The total length of sewers to be
constructed is 16.430 feet: 1U". it
and 15" pipe will be required in this
construction.
Prequalification of bidders is re
quired in accordance wixn uregon
Law. Prequalification forms may be
obtained from the Engineers upon re
quest. Questionnaires from bidders
desiring to submit proposals must oe

A certified check, payable to the
Treasurer. South Bear Creek bam-
tarv District, in the amount of 5
of the total of the bid or a bidder's
bond, executed by a bonding com-
oanv authorized to do business in the
State of Oregon in the same amount
as an evidence of good taitn ana in
tention of the bidder to enter into the
contract for the work should it be
awarded to him shall be submitted
with each proposal. Performance Bond
' in amount of 100 of the contract
nrice will be reauired.
The South Bear Creek Sanitary
District reserves the right to reject
any and all proposals and to accept
such proposal as may be deemed to
be in the best interest ot tne .District.
No bidder may withdraw his bid after

LECTION NOTICE
South Bear Creek Sanitary District
Notice is hereby given that on De
cember 5. 1955 at 3578 South Pacific
Highway. Medford, Oregon, within
the boundaries of the district, an
election of the South Bear Creek
Sanitary District will be held in and
for said district for the purpose of
electing a Director for the term of
office from January 3. 1956. through
January 6, 19o9.
At said election the question will
be submitted to the legal voters of
said district whether the Board of
Directors of the district shall be
authorized to issue general obligation
bonds of the district in an amount
not exceeding $40,000.00 to bear in
terest not exceeding 6 per annum,
navable semiannually, said bonds ma
turing serially within not to exceed
25 years from issue date in such
amounts and at such times as the
Board shall determine.
The purpose for which the pro
ceeds of the bonds will be used is
the construction of trunk and lateral
sanitary sewer lines to serve the in
habitants of said district, said pro
ceeds to be combined with the pro
ceeds of the first bond issue of the
district now on hand for said purpose.
The polls for the reception of bal
lots for the election of a director and
for and against the issuance of said
bonds will be open at 8:00 o'clock
A. M. and will remain open until
8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day.
The names of the judges of the
election who shall constitute the elec
tion board are: Mrs. Edith Stevens, ;

Board of Commissioners of the Elk
City Water District, Jackson County,
Oregon, will receive sealed bids at
11:00 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, the
14th day of December, 1955. at the
offices of Van'Dyke & Dellenback in

Oregon, for an issue of One Hundred
Eighty-seven Thousand Dollars ($187.

said district in denominations of One

shall be given by filing said notice at
the place of payment and publishing
said notice in one issue of a news
paper of general circulation published
in Jackson County, Oregon, at least
thirty (30) days prior to redemption
date.
Bidders offering to purchase said
bonds are invited to bid thereon for
not less than ninety-eight per cent
(98 ) of par. Bids must be in writing
and unconditional and accompanied
by a certified check on a bank of
the State of Oregon in the amount of
Three Thoifsand Eight Hundred Dol
lars S3.800.00) as evidence of good faith
on the part of the bidder. Said de
posit shall not bear interest but will
be forfeited to the district as liquidated
damages should the successful bidder
withdraw his bid or fail or neglect to
complete his offer in accordance with
the terms thereof.
The Board of Commissioners of said
district reserves the right to reject
any and all bids and to waive any and
all informalities in the bids.
