Vehicles Collide Vehicles driven by James Derald Wooton, 21, of 601 Plum st., and Ray C. Shull, 55, of route 1, box 391, Medford were involved in a mi nor accident today at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ross lane and Mason Ehrman rd., ac cording to state police. There were no injuries and damage to the two vehicles was minor. Dog Hit A golden red female cocker spaniel owned by B. W. Riebe, 1117 Reddy ave., was struck by a truck at the corner of Lindley st. and Reddy ave., about 5 p.m. yesterday. Riebe said the dog strayed in the vicin ity of the school. The dog an swers to the name "Ginger," Riebe said. Rummage The Eagle Point Home Extension unit will con duct a sale of men's, women's and children's winter clothing and other items, Saturday, Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Girls Community club, 229 North Bartlett st. He returned this morning to the hospital for sur gery. - Twins Born Mrs. Daisy Rein- hart has received word of the birth of twin daughters to Mr. and Mrs. William Norton, for merly of Medford, now of Hay- ward, Calif. They lived here at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Norton. Norton is a grandson of Mrs. Reinhart. Serious Injury Martin A. Cesar, 36, route 1, box 482, Cen tral Point, lost part of his right hand in an accident Tuesday af ternoon at the Fir Ply mill at Camp White, according to Med ford ambulance attendants, who took him jo the Sacred Heart hospital. He was reported at the hospital today as in "good con-1 dition." Condition "Good" Clyde B. Haddock, 43, who suffered a broken collar bone, when the car he was driving overturned Tues day morning on Highway 99, is reported today in "good" condi tion at Community hospital. In formation received from state police concerning the accident Tuesday indicated that he was taken to Sacred Heart hospital. Xhe accident occurred between Rogue River and Grants Pass. His wife and three children re ceived minor injuries. They live in Modesto, Calif. News About Servicemen ASSIGNED Cecil (Bud) Thomas, now sta tioned at the Long Beach Navy base, has been assigned to MSB 31 with the rating of electrician's mate, petty officer, third class, according to news received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nor man Thomas, 3286 Lone Pine rd. He recently finished studies at a mine sweeping school. INDUCTED Arlo Junior Emmons, Medford, was inducted into the Armed Forces Nov. 16 at Portland, ac cording to a release, from the local induction board. She won the prize, which included $25 and a certificate of merit, by writing a five-minute script. She was sponsored in the contest by the Thermopolis, Wyo., Jay-cees. Never drive under 70 mile: an hour regardless of road or weather conditions. 2. Have several drinks before you leave on the trip; a relaxed driver is always the best one for the morgue. 3. Pass other cars whenever you feel like it regardless of visibility or oncoming traffic. So what if someone else has to slam on their brakes to prevent a smash-up? . 4. Pay no attention to what other drivers are doing. You can't live forever. As an afterthought, the safety officials reminded that last year nine people were killed in' Ore gon traffic accidents over the Thanksgiving holidays. Acreage Reserve y Plan Said Decided Portland (U.R) The govern ment may pay farmers to keep land out of production to help bolster farm income, it was re ported today. . The Oregonian quoted "Wash ington insiders" as saying Ag riculture Secretary Ezra T. Ben son has decided on the acreage reserve plan with a hope of win ning farmer support in 1956. As signs of the possibility, the newspaper said the Oregon Wheat Growers League had called a special meeting at Ar lington Tuesday to discuss the proposal. Also, the president's agricultural advisory commis sion, which includes Dr. G. Bur ton Wood of Oregon State Col lege, has been called to Wash ington next week, the newspaper added. Portland (U.R) Three com panies owned by a Medford man have been, judged bankrupt by Federal Judge William East. The firms, owned by Bill Chrysler, were the Chrystal Company, Chrystal Orchard and Cold Storage Company and Chrystal Distributing and Cold Storage Company. Chrysler listed total assets of the companies as S247 tj,3, while debts totaled $281,583.
