Cleaves at 630 Crater Lake ave., according to records in the county recording depart ment. Visits Gus C. Eksman, Salem, visited Tuesday with a longtime friend, Linn W. Nesmith. Camp White. Eksman has been iden tified with the American Legion of Oregon for 35 years and with Capital post, Salem. Eksman and Nesmith served in the same regiment during World War I. Eksman is a retired Oregon state highway commission employee. Name Correction A news item this week incorrectly in cluded the name of Robert W. Shepherd as among those assum ing the business name of Robin son, Potter and Shepherd, it was pointed out today. The name was retired by a group of business associates, and reassumed by V. J. Tucker, is a ton sil surgery patient there. VFW Dance Shady Cove Vet erans of Foreign Wars post and auxiliary will sponsor a public dance today at 9 p.m., in the Shady Cove VFW hall. Music will be furnished by Jim Ray's orchestra and refreshments will be served by the auxiliary. - Square Dance A public dance will be conducted Saturday. To Canada State Police Lt. and Mrs. Paul Morgan, 726 broad st., plan to leave Saturday for Vancouver. B.C., to visit their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Doty, for mer Medford residents. The couple plans to vacation for about a week and will stop at Beaverton en route north to visit a sister of Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Ralph Blank. Brother Visits Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bashaw and son, John Orofino, Ida., arrived this week to visit Bashaw's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Bashaw, 18 Almond st. Friday the group plans to go to Crater Lake to visit a daughter of the L. S. Bashaws, Mrs. Paul Turner. They will be here about 10 days. Frank Bashaw recently received his discharge from the Army in which he served as a paratrooper. Mrs. MARY JONES Services Friday Private Funeral Services Planned For Mrs. Ira Jones Private funeral services for Mrs. Mary Peet Jones, who died Tuesday at her home at 2325 Stewart ave., will be held in Conger-Morris chapel Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. J. Thom as Dixon of the First Methodist church officiating. Committal will be in the IOOF cemetery. The remains will lie in state un til 9 a.m. Friday. The deceased was born June 12, 1861 in Crystal Lake, Minn. She was married to Ira C. Jones on Nov. 4, 1881 in Minneapolis, Minn. They had just celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary on Nov. 4th. They lived in Minneapolis, until 1917 when they moved to Minot, N.D. In 1937 they moved to Medford. She had received her 50-year pin for membership in the Na tional WCTU. She was an active member of the First Methodist church all of her life. Survivors include her hus band, two sons, Dr. Roland R. Jones, Pasadena, Calif. ; Norris C, Minneapolis, Minn.J three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Thomas, Monterey Park, Calif.; Mrs. Ralph Waldron, Vallejo, Calif.; Mrs. A. E. Brockway, Medford, 16 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren. Magsaysay-Backed Candidates Leading Manila (U.R) Candidates of President Ramon Magsay say's pro-American Nacionalista party led today in seven of the nine senatorial races at stake and Magsaysay's bitterest op ponent charged he was being cheated. The fraud charges were made by Sen: Carlo M. Recto, a rene gade Nacionalista senator who appeared on the opposition Lib eral Party slate as a "guest can didate" after he broke with Magsaysay in a fiery dispute over foreign policy. ' Recto said he was far down in the list of probable winners because pro-administration of ficers were putting out "mislead ing" partial election returns. The city traffic department said the "robot" traffic monitor sizes up the traffic situation auto matically and relays "instruc tions" to the intersection signals accordingly. Lawlor got all but one of the votes cast in Tues day's municipal . election. The holdout vote was a write-in for former President Truman. Ohio's Youngstown steel dist rict has added 60 companies working aluminum ' into consu mer goods in recent years. Youngstown'i basic steel indus try still employs 55.000 workers. Its steel fabricating mills have 25,000 more, compared to 5,000 to 6,000 for aluminum fabricat ing plants. Appeal Court Blocks Move by Government Washington (U.R) The U.S. Court of Appeals today blocked the government's effort to strip the International Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers Ind. of collec tive bargaining and privileges under the Taft-Hartley Act. The three-judge court unani mously reaffirmed a previous de cision that the National Labor Relations Board cannot take such action against a union be cause an officer files a falsa non-Communist affidavit.
