Central Point Firm
Gets Bridge Contract
Portland (U.R) A Southern
Oregon firm has received a $38.
705 contract from the Eureau of
Public Roads to build a 120-foot
reinforced concrete bridge in
Lane county. R&M Construction
Co., Central Point, will build
the bridge seven miles northeast
of Oakridge on Squaw Butte
road.
Exploding Capsule
Costs Boy Sight of Eye

Turner, 12, lost the sight of his
left eye when a gas-filled capsule
used to inflate emergency life
rafts exploded in his hands when
he held it over a flaming mtch.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Turner, said they had no idea
of where their son had gotten
the capsule.
