President Eisenhower's taste
in birthday gifts has undergone
no change just because he's in
the hospital. He much prefers
things that can be used later on
his farm at Gettysburg, Pa.
If Mr. Eisenhower had not suf
fered a heart attack, he prob
ably would have returned to
Washington shortly after his
birthday. He's 65 today.
The public hears a lot about
the nurses and corpsmen around
the President. In fact, the White
House has published the names
of every person having anything
to do with the case.
There are, however, eight un
sung heroes at the Lowry Field
White House offices. These are
the Air Force enlisted men who,
over and above their normal
duties, have volunteered for the
extra work involved in keeping
the offices, the big conference
room and the White House press
room clean. . "".,.
All of the young men are stu
dents at Lowry and their clean
up chores offer no excuse for

Sealed bids for the construction of
a Sewage Disposal System will be re
ceived by tne Clerk of school District
No. 10, Jackson County. Oregon, until
8 P.M. Pacific Standard Time. Mon
day, October 17, 1955, and will then
and there be opened and Dubliclv read
aloud. Bids received after the hour
set for opening will not be considered.
Bids will be received on the basis
of one contract to include all general
construction, including concrete,
piping, excavation, plumbing.
Bids must be submitted in the exact
form of the Proposal and Bid Form
incorporated in the specifications.
Plans and specifications will be on
file after September 30. 1955. at the
offic of R. J. Keeney. A.I.A.. Archi
tect. Fluhrer Building, Medford, Ore
gon.
A set of drawings and specifications
may be obtained by Prime bidders
from the Architect upon a deposit of
S10.00. All plans shall remain the
property of the Architect and shall
be returned to him in good condition
after the opening of bids.
Each bid shall be accomoamed by
a certified check, or bid bond (with
authorized Surety Company) made
payable to Board of Directors. School
District No. 10. Jackson County. Ore
gon, in an amount not less than 5
of the base bid.
No bidder may withdraw his bid
after the hour set for the opening
thereof, or before the award of the
contract, unless said award is delayed
for a period of 30 days.
The Board of Directors reserves the
right to reject any and all bids, to
waive any informality in bids re
ceived, and to accept or reject any or
all items of any bid, unless the bid
der qualifies his bid by specific limi
tation. Bidders oreoualification form may
be obtained from the Architect. R. J.
Keeney, A.IA., Fluhrer Building,
Medford, Oregon, and must be filed
in the Architect's office 10 days prior
to the bid opening. If any bidder does
not qualify, he will be notified 8 days
prior to bid opening.
