o o o Simple Jo-Focus Auto Headlight Developed by GM ..Detroit (U.R) A new auto headlightPthat can be focused properly with a few simple steps wai introduced today by the Guide Lamp Division of General Motors, which said the light will je used on all 1956 General Mo tors cars. C. A; Michel, general manager of tht Guide Lamp Division, aid, "We believe it is the great est contribution to safe night driving since the introduction of the sealed beam itself in 1940." He said the new lamps can be focused properly without the use of expensive equipment, and should correct the "unsafe driv ing condition" caused by "more than half the cars on the road" which have lights "aimed too high, too low," or too much to one side." Adjustment of headlamps has been done by throwing the lights on a wall chart or through use of hefdlight 3 aimers. Limited space has been a handicap to using wall charts and headlight aimers have been too expensive for most garages to buy. The new headlamps have three glass knobs, ground in precise dimensions at exact spots on the outside of the sealed beam light. When the knobs are ' correctly lined up through a sim ple and inexpensive . tool the lights automatically will be in correct focus.
