Press As You Sew,
Advice of Specialist
Madison, Wis. (IhR) Home-
sewn garments can have that
professional look, if you press as
you sew.
Gladys Meloche, clothing spe
cialist at the University of Wis
consin, says the trick is to press
each part of the garment before
it is joined to another. After
making a seam, open it and press
it flat before going to another
seam. Pressed in the same direc
tion as stitched.
Curved areas which fit the
rounded parts of the body need
to be shaped. That is done by
using a pression cushion to gfct
rounded darts and sleeve caps,

55,000 lives a year in the U.S
by 1965 if the volume of cars
increases the expected 50 per
cent by that time.

The efficient way my Amy

It takes only half the time and Bruce
