o o o Hearings Scheduled On Paternity Suit Los Angeles (U.PJ A prelimi nary hearing will begin Friday on the paternity suit against mu sician Moises Vivanco, 38, hus band of Peruvian singer Yma Sumac. Maureen E. Shea, former sec retary for the singer, accused Vivanco of fathering her year old0 twins. The hearing was scheduled to begin yesterday but a crowded court calendar result ed In the case being continued. Miss Shea seeks S500 monthly support for the twins. Vivanco denies that hebfathered the girls, Mary and Catherine. COMMENTATOR STRICKEN San Francisco U.R) William Winter, nationally known radio and television news commenta tor, suffered a coronary throm bosis yesterday at his home. Radar Island Provides Golf Course for Crew Quincy, Mass. (U.R) Crew members of the Air Force's new "Texas Tower" radar island will have a miniature golf course on the craft to while away the time some 100 miles out to sea. The island, launched here as the first of a group of early warning stations, will have golf hitting machines and simulated putting cups. No divots will have to be re placed. Mamie Promises To Answer Every Get-Well Note Denver (U.R) Mamie Eis enhower has taken a staggering job upon herself in promising to acknowledge every get-well message her husband has " re ceived since he went to Fitz simons Army hospital 17 days ago with a heart attack. So far, she has personally sign ed "more than 11,000" such ac knowledgements. Tens of thou sands of messages have poured into the hospital and every new mail brings thousands more. Dictated Thousands Of this total of acknowledge ments Press Secretary James C. Hagerty said Mrs. Eisenhower "dictated thousands" to the team of secretearies helping her. Hagerty said under Mrs. Eis enhower's "project" every letter eventually will receive an an swer. Mrs. Eisenhower has turned her small bedroom across the hall from the President's room on the eighth floor of the hos pital into what looks like a post office substation, Hagerty said. Personally Sorts Letters Hagerty said that Mrs. Eisen hower personally sorts through all the letters, choosing ones she thinks the President would like to read or hear read and decid ing which ones require immed iate attention. . Her secretary, Mrs. Mary Jane McCaffree, is in charge of two other secretaries. This secretarial staff is rein forced by stenographers regu larly assigned to the White House and a contingent of WAF nersonnel to handle the typing. NAME CHANGED? Ft. Dix, N. J. (U.R) A rookie soldier here received a package from home although his parents apparently thought the Army had taken away his son's name. Students Believe Industry Monopolized Gearhart, Ore. (U.R) A bus iness official said yesterday that 82 per cent of high school stu dents believe most industries are monopolistic. Walter B. Petravage, manager of the business relations depart ment of U.S. Chamber of Com merce also quoted from nation al surveys to say that 60 per cent of high school students be lieve profit is not necessary as an incentive and 56 per 'cent think employees should get more money. . Petravage spoke to the fourth annual better business relations conference here, attended by about 75 West Coast business leaders. He thought it would be prop er to take an average loaf of bread 20 slices and break the loaf down 20 ways. Who got what the farmer, the miller and so forth down the line. When he got ready to make his speech the bakers presented him with a loaf, hot from the oven. The secretary counted the slices. There were only 19. So he gave a bell hop 18 cents, the going rate for a losf of bread in Wash ington. The boy came back with a 20-slice loaf, all right, but he reminded the head man of agriculture that at the place he bought it in Atlantic City bread was 21 cents. Amount due: three cents. P.S. Somebody discovered that, an act of Congress says that the only thing played before the tomb of the unknown hero is Lost Hunters v Reported Safe By UNITED PRESS Three eastern Oregon youths, reported lost on hunting trips, and a 47-year-old Cougar, Wash., man who stayed with his deer after becoming separated from three hunting companions, were all safe today. Randall Graves, 15, Burns, was found safe late yesterday after becoming lost in the rugged Mosquito flat area of Malheur county Sunday afternoon. He found his way into a hunting camp after walking several miles. More than 100 men were hunting for him. He said he did not sleep Sunday night. George Coleman, 47, Cougar, Wash., was found by his com panions yesterday morning after becoming separated from them Sunday. He had shot a deer and was down to his last round of ammunition. He had used the rest for his deer and answering signal shots. "I knew if I stuck in one place they would find me, or I would have been able to walk out in daylight," Coleman, a veteran logger, said. Building Board Curbs Architectural Extremes Milwaukee (U.R) A fashion able suburb adopted an ordin ance setting up a building board to make sure the "esthetic val ue," that is, "exterior architect ural appeal," of proposed' new homes appeals to the commun ity. The intent of the ordinance is to preserve property values by rejecting building permits if the proposed buildings are "greatly similar, or greatly at variance," with existing structures in the suburb. Nancy Marvin of Monterey Calif., wants Vice-President-Richard M. Nixon to know that she is running for office, too for vice-president of her Walter Colton Junior High School class. "I hope," she told the vice-presi dent, "that you won't' mind if I used your name in my advertis ing. My slogan was 'Elect this vixeni to be' your schools Nix on."
