Medford, Oregon Gold Hill Church Members To Hear District Officer Gold Hill The Rev. Meredith Groves, district superintendent for -the Methodist church with headquarters at Eugene, will speak Sunday at the Gold Hill Community Methodist church. A communion service will be conducted. The senior Methodist . Youth fellowship group selected car washing as a project for the year during a meeting last Sunday. Fred Bowen led a discussion on primitive : relations and Grace Gail ' conducted the business meeting. Sandra Densmore had charge of the recreation period. The Junior MYF will provide nursery care at the church for mothers who wish to " attend church ' services. This will be their project for the year. Terry Turner and Doris Golden will be in charge of the nursery next Sunday. 1 ; Mrs. Lawrence Smith is the new adult counselor for the year. The Girls choir will meet for rehearsals on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., under the direction of Mrs. Normal Gail. Mrs. Ed Bolt is substituting as accompanist during the absence of Nadra Moore. All girls interested in singing from ' the sixth grade through high school are invited. The girls choir furnishes songs each Sunday at the church. DR. R. E. MILAM Baptist Officer Baptist Officer To Speak Sunday .Dr. R. E. Milam, state execu tive secretary of the Baptist gen eral convention of Oregon and Washington, will be guest speaker of the Temple Baptist church, 794 Lozier lane, Sunday at the regular worship services at 11 a.m. He will be guest speaker at the Bethel Baptist church, 11 Newton st., in the evening wor ship at 7:30 p.m. From Europe Dr. Melam has returned just recently from a tour of Europe, where he attended the Baptist world alliance in London, Eng land. He is considered an out standing preacher and is the author of several theological books. The public is invited to hear Dr. Milam at both services. He will preach the morning message, telling of the Southern Baptist work in Oregon and Washington and tell of his recent trip. St. Mark's Church Schedules Classes Classes of instruction in reli gion and the basic tenets of the Christian faith especially de signed for adults, will open at St Mark's Episcopal church Sun day at 9:30 a.m., and will con tinue for 10 weeks. The classes, which will be con ducted by the Rev. George R. V. Bolster, rector, will be open to all who care to attend and will involve no commitment to furth er association with the church. Subjects to be covered will in clude church history, church teaching and worship, the Chris tian sacraments, the Bible, the book of common prayer, the or ganization and discipline of the church, the meaning and pur pose of confirmation, and will conclude with several classes on the subject of Personal Religion. Questions will be discussed at all sessions. Medford Assembly Activities Listed The entire teaching staff of the Medford Assembly of God Sunday school, 1108 West Main st., will be introduced to. the Sunday school at the opening program Sunday at 9:45 a.m. This will be the second Sun day in the current enlargement program for the school. At the worship service at 11 a.m. the pastor will speak on the topic, "The Victory Side." A children's church service will be held in the church annex audi torium at the same hour for chil dren 5 to 11. Miss Fern Bush and Mrs. Leora Nylander direct the children's church. An informal adult Bible study group will meet at 6 p.m. at the church. THE REV. P. J. BARTRAM To Be Honored Former Minister Will Be Honored The Rev. and Mrs. P. J. Bart ram will be in Medford Sunday, Oct. 9, for home-coming rally services at the First Church of the Nazarene, Holly and First sts. From 1947 to 1951, the Rev. Mr. Bartram was pastor of the Medford congregation. He is at present pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Spo kane, Wash. Observances have been planned by the congregation to honor the former pastor. The Rev. Bartram will speak in the worship service at 11 a.m., and again at the service at 7:30 p.m. This is the first return trip the Bartrams have made back to Medford.
