ARTHUR LEE SIMPKINS To Aid UMC Drir Arthur Simpkins Slated to Appear In Local Program Arthur Lee Simpkins, nation ally noted young tenor, will ap pear at the Medford high school auditorium Monday, Oct. 17, in a program that will benefit the United Medford Cruside. The program will start at 8 p.m. His appearance will be spon sored by the Crater Lions club, through the courtesy of Rogue Valley Country club. Also on the program, to be entitled "Evening of Songs," will be Chop Chop and Charlene, pre senting "Oriental Magic," and Maury Ellenhorn at the piano. Tickets are on sale at Barker's Men's .store, Main st. and Cen tral ave. Simpkins has appeared at night clubs and theaters through out the United States, and at the Palladium theater in London. Fluent in six languages, includ ing Italian, French, Spanish and Hebrew, he has a thorough knowledge of both popular and operatic music. Switzerland Villa Prepared for Peron Lausanne, Switzerland (U.R) Banking circles said today a 20 room lakeside ' villa was being prepared for ousted Argentine President Juan D. Peron if 'he decides to come to .Switzerland. The villt, surrounded by a large garden and near a private airfield, was bought last July by an Argentine businessman for $187,000. ' Banking circles said Peron bad been transferring funds to Switzerland ' since 1947 and should Switzerland refuse him asylum, friends would be' ready to receive him in Germany or Italy.
