Strength in Korea
Will Shift to ROK
Tokyo U.R) Communist
China's anounced withdrawal of
six army divisions from North
Korea during October will tip
the; military balance in-.favor of
the Republic of Korea' and its
U.N.' allies, an informed source
said here today. '
American officers said before
the announcement by Peiping
radio that the Communist and
anti-Communist ground - forces
in Korea were equally balanced
at about 775,000 men each.
Thus,' observers said, a new
troop reduction by the ' Chinese
Communists would leave the
U.N. side in the stronger posi
tion from - the standpoint of
manpower.
