Putnam was editor and publisher of the lail Trib une for a number of years, until purchasing the Salens paper. A few years ago he sold his con trolling interest, but remained on as "editor emeritus" and in charge of the wire. desk. Within the past month it was announced he woid relinquish these duties and write a column for that paper.
