Use Flashlight To See If Rugs Need Cleaning Chicago (U.R) All that's necessary to determine wnen vour carpets or rugs neea a professional cleaning is a small focusing flashlight. Get on your hands and knees m a neavy trattic area, spread the carpet pile with your fingers and shine the light into the .gap. Cleaning experts say there will be a darker band along the upper portion of the fibers. This is the atmospheric soil which is dulling the carpet's hues. If the band extends half the depth of the fiber, it's time for professional cleaning. If the soil level is more than half-way, the case is considered urgent.
