Delegates Attend Biennial Session; Camp Meeting Set Thirteen delegates represent ed the Medford Seventh-day Ad ventist church at a biennial Ore gon conference session held July 20 and 21 at Gladstone park. Ore. They in turn helped elect conference officers and depart mental secretaries for the bien nium. The delegates were Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Fjarli, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. The Oregon conference of Seventh-day Adventists has a membership in excess of 14,000. Headquarters are in Portland. Barrow and Mrs. Tom Campbell attended from Eagle Point Seventh-day Adventist church. Following this meeting will be the annual Oregon conference of Seventh-day Adventists camp meeting, which will close with a laymen's congress August 2-6, which Mrs. Frank Arnold will attend as a delegate from the Eagle Point church. Since organization in August, 1954, with a membership of 37, the Eagle Point Seventh-day Ad ventist church has added 42 new members. Superintendent Here To Meet With Councilors Dr. Paul A. Davies. minister and superintendent of the Con gregational conference of Ore gon will visit the Congregational Camp Activities To Be Reported The Rev. R. W. Hum, pastor of the Medford church of the Nazarene has been attending a District camp of the church dur ing the past week. Over a thou sand people attended the meet ing held at Clackamas. It is scheduled for ten days, and will close Sunday. Reports of some of the activi ties of the camp will be given Sunday, July 24 at 9:45 a.m. by the Rev. Mr. Hum. In the morn ing worship service he will speak on "Evidence of Faith." Missionaries From Bolivia To Speak; Campers Return The Rev. and Mrs. Marshall Cavit, who have spent nine years as missionaries in Bolivia, will speak and show pictures of their work at the Friends church Fri day at 8 p.m. The Cavits, with their daughter, Christine, are touring this country in deputa tion during this furlough year. Their work has been with the Aymara Indians under the Friends mission board. Mr. Cavit was the inaugurator of tent evan gelistic campaigns, using loud speaker and slides, which are now being conducted by the In dians themselves on the Bolivian altiplano. He was also supervisor of the day-schools sponsored by the Friends mission in Bolivia. The public is invited to attend this missionary presentation. Return Seventy-five young people re turned Monday from a week at Camp Sa-wa-li-nais, Friends young people's conference near Keno. Pat Schroeder, of the local church, was camp director, and Pastor Clynton Crisman was camp manager. Young People Plan Religious Drama A play, "The Terrible Meek," will be given Sunday at 8 p.m., by three young people of the Medford Church of the Brethren at the church. The cast members are Marilyn Paul, Ken Breazeale and Jack Pool who take the roles of a pea sant woman, Roman soldier and Army officer, respectively. The public is invited to see the religious drama. DAVIES church of Medford again this week end. He will be accompan ied by Mrs. Davies. He will meet with the church council at the parsonage today at 8 p.m. The purpose of the meet ing will be to examine the pres ent status of this youthful church and make plans for the future. Dr. Davies will remain to speak Sunday in the absence of the pastor, Thomas McCamant, who will leave Saturday to serve as counsellor at the Lower Jun ior camp at the Congregational grounds known as Camp Adams near Molalla. A group of children and adults from the Ashland and Medford churches will accompany him. Boys and Girls Camp For Assemblies To Be Held Next Week The southern Oregon Boys and Girls camp for the Assemblies of God will be held this next week at government Camp 2 on Mt. McLoughlin, according to offic ers of the camp. Evangelist will be the Rev. David Godwin, of Dallas, Tex. Study classes will be held in the morning and handiwork and rec reational activities are planned for the afternoon. The faculty has been chosen from among the ministers of the southern Oregon Assemblies of God. More than 26 Assemblies of God churches will cooperate. The Rev. Homer Thompson, pastor of the Ashland Assembly of God, is director of the camp. DR. VINCENT BENNETT First Baptists Slate Speaker Dr. Vincent Bennett will be guest speaker at the Medford First Baptist church Sunday, July 24, at 11 a.m., the regular service which is broadcast over station KBOY. A graduate of Cliff college, England, Dr. Bennett served sev eral years on the college exten sion staff in association with the late Dr. G. Campbell Morgan. Dr. Bennett has taken special work at Moody Bible institute and is a graduate of McCormick Theological seminary. For sev eral years he served as university pastor and professor of Bible at the John Brown university and later served as vice-president of the John Brown schools. His recent resignation as associate president of Wheaton college in Illinois permitted him to enter an evangelism and Bible confer ence work. In addition to the Medford service in the morning, Dr. Ben nett will speak at the Ashland First Baptist church, July 24, at 7:45 p.m. Some Caffeine Said in Decaffeinated Coffee Chicago (U.P.) The American Medical association says that advertising to the contrary there still is some caffeine in decaffeinated coffee. According to a report in the American Medical Association Journal, it has not yet been pos sible "to extract all the caffeine in commercially prepared cof fee." A cup of regular decaffein ated coffee has about one-third the amount of caffeine as is found in regular ground coffee, the AMA said. Regular instant coffee has about half as much caffeine as a cup of regular ground. Kretzmann, VU president to serve as a member of the coun cil. Mr. Brandau is a member of St. Peters Lutheran church. Farewell Sermon Slated Sunday The Rev. Willis J. Loar, who has been pastor of Eastwood Bap tist church for the past two years, has resigned to be effect ive immediately. Mr. Loar will leave the min istry for a one-year leave of ab sence and has spent the past month in Idaho Falls, Ida., train ing for a credit bureau sales posi tion. He will be in Medford this week end to deliver his farewell sermon at the regular 11 ajn. worship service at the Eastwood Baptist church, North Keeneway and Ridgeway drive. Sometime during next week, Mr. and Mrs. Loar and son, Da vid, will leave Medford to com plete their vacation before be ginning his new work. Mr. Loar has been a member of Kiwanis, chairman of the Medford Minis terial association and as a mem ber of other civic organizations. Presbyterians List Program The Rev. John O.
