Way to Collect Fines Burlington, Wis. OJ.PJ The city of Burlington has found an almost painless method of col lecting fines for overtime park ing. Small metal boxes are attach ed to the parking meters, and motorists who. have been tagged for parking violations can put the required amount of money in an envelope attached to the ticket and drop it in the box. Police Chief Roy McCourt said the number of fines paid has in creased under the new system since it is so much easier to do now. Under the old system, the violator had the option of going to the police station, to pay the fine or mailing it in. LET SOMEONE ELSE POUR FOR A WHILE West Virginia reader says she is sorry she has neglected for so many years to give me a word of. encouragement in regard to my stand against alcohol. She surely does appreciate it, and more power to me. She thinks I am exactly right about the preachers. They are afraid of los ing their biggest contributor if they should take a stand against drinking. So pour it on, the lady says, and may the young people of our land read it and profit by it. A lot of people have offered to hold my coat, back in the bushes, while I do battle with the demon. I'm sorry now that I made that dirty crack at the preachers who Ex-Military Band Members To Meet A convention of the former 249th coast artillery band of the 41st division will be held Aug. 6 and 7 at Rogue River lodge.
