New Silicone Product Waterproofs Leather New York (U.R) A new product for tanning leather al lows your shoes to stay soft and flexible after you walk in the rain. The secret lies in silicones a common element that hates water. The "Sylflex" treatment is ap plied in the tannery with the silicones in a-liquid state. Here is what happens to the shoe uppers: a water-repellent silicone film lines each of the millions of "pores" in the shoe. This keeps the water out and allows the -shoe to "bre'athe." In ordinary shoe leather water is pumped into the shoe, enter-: ing readily through the invisible openings. , Sylflex leather is versatile. It can go into dress . shoes, work shoes and golfing shoes. It's also, ideal for children's shoes, since' Friday., July 8. 1955 MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBU1W THUS fM GREETING NEWSMEN at her Bel-Air, Cat home, opera star Dorothy Kirsten and Dr. John D.
