Guests nresent were Mr. and ' Mrs. Arley Spain, Mr. and Mrs Ivan Hale, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goode and Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Spain, Shady Cove; Mr. and Mrs Ralph Goode and Mr. and Mrs Jack Hollenbeak, Prospect; the honored guests, Mr. and Mrs Lewis Jantzer and the host and hostess. Prizes for high score were won by Mrs. Ivan Hale and Ralph Goode and consolation prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. JJei bert Snain. Gifts were presented to both Mr. and Mrs. Jantzer, witn Mrs. Jantzer receiving an orchid corsage. Winners Announced For Weekly Meeting Of Camp White Club Camp White Camp White Bridge club, which meets each Friday evening, has announced winners of last week s play. Winning in the north - south playing position were William Hickey and Ray Wise, first, 12Wz points; Mrs. Frank R. Baker and Mrs. Marion Keim, second, 97 points; Mr. and Mrs. George Rode, third, 95Vi; two couples, Dr. and Mrs. R. E. Cutts, Mrs. George Dean and Paul Mc Duffee tied for fourth and fifth with 90V4 points each. East-west winners were Mrs. J. Alger and Mrs. L. Binion, 114, first; Mrs. Fred Rehling and Emery Wheat, second, 112; Wil liam Isaacs and General J. P. Vachon, third, 95; Mrs. Jose phine Clark and Mrs. Mamie Hendryx, fourth, 90 points. Grange Upper Rogue Grange . Upper Rogue Grange met in regular session Thursday, June 16, with Master Herb Carlton presiding. Brother and Sister Barber and Sister Carlton all reported on the sessions they at tended at State Grange in Klam ath Falls. Master Carlton re ported on the fire insurance meeting he attended while at State Grange. . The following members helped put one-half of the new roof on the hall: Ray Gillispie, Vic Chapman, Harry Harding, Ron ald Axtell and son Monty, Bill Miller, Carl Richardson and Herb Carlton. Ladies furnished a hot meal at noon. Sister Axtell had a wonderful display of roses and talked briefly on same. Brother and Sister Richardson and Brother and Sister Ditsworth served strawberries, ice cream and cake after the meeting. Youngs Leave Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Young, formerly of Medford and now of Calistoga, Calif., left for their home yesterday after visiting friends and relatives here. The Youngs, who lived on Stewart avenue until December, spent the past month visiting in var ious cities In Oregon. Delegate Returns Gold Hill Miss Nadra Moore, Gold Hill, recently returned from Girls' State held at Willamette university in Salem, June 13-19. Miss Moore, who attends Crater High school, served as a delegate to her party caucus, as a city auditor, and then as a rep resentative in the House of Rep resentatives. The county raoort of activ ities, which included her report, won second place for neatness and content. The final event of the week was a candlelight ceremony held in the rotunda of the Capitol. (U.R) A Portland gasoline truck driver was crushed to death yesterday afternoon when his truck jack knifed and overturned east of here. Howard w. Work, 35, was traveling about 35 miles an hour on Ellsworth road when his brakes apparently failed near the intersection of the road with the new Evergreen highway. An eyewitness said the truck rolled over twice, throwing the driver out and crushing him be neath the cab.
