Lt. Col. Julian F. Crow, com manding officer of the 497th interceptor squadron to which all the planes belonged, had high praise for his men who rushed into the area to remove 10 jets threatened by the flames. Airman l-C..Alvin Cutler was on a wing of one of the jets when a rocket zoomed 50 yards across the field and struck the plane. He said he felt the shrapnel on his back and ran for it. All but two "alert" jets were grounded until inspected yester day and the field was closed to ' all traffic for a half hour while the fires were extinguished. Air Force officials . said they thought the accident resulted from the failure of a device on the plane designed to prevent rockets firing on the ground. 4-HCiublievK Reei Creek Renegades . IILRB Rejects Charges Against Portlander Portland (U.R) The National Labor Relations Board yesterday said it had rejected charges of unfair labor practices filed against Joe Fisher, Portland automobile dealer. The NLRB office here said the board's general counsel had decided the AFL Automotive Employees Council had insuffi cient evidence to back up its charges. The union had contended that Fisher's proposed independent employees union was dominated by the company. It has 10 days in which to appeal the decision. Unless the ruling is appealed, Fisher employees can go ahead with a representation election requested earlier. The union filed its "unfair" charges after the request had been made.
