Mrs. Van Skike accompanied the Dwyers here from Santa Ana, Calif., where they were called earlier by the unexpected death of F. M. Dwyer, a brother of Mrs. Van Skike and Dwyer. They plan to be away until about August 1 and en route will visit in Washing ton, D.C., and Chicago. - To Syracuse Gene Thanos, 646 Pennsylvania ave., plans to leave Monday for Syracuse, N.Y., where he will remain for about a- year. Thanos, who taught for three years in the Tal ent schools, and last year at Ruch, will do special work at Syracuse university in educa tion of mentally retarded child ren. Mrs.. Thanos, who has taught for the past three years at Howard school, will join her husband at Syracuse in August. En route east he will visit Yel lowstone park. Mrs. Thanos plans to teach in the elementary schools at Syracuse. They plan to return to the valley in the fall of 1956. Arretted Miland Wilber Ott, PO Box 92, Butte Falls, was ar rested Friday . on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to state police and, the sheriff's office. The case involves, an 11-year-old girl. He is held in the county jail. - Cars Collide Cars operated by Melvin R. Coffman, 22, of 1110V4 East 11th st., and Flor ence F. Dean, 68, of 265 Janney lane, were involved in a colli sion at the intersection of Jack sonville highway and Janney lane at about 4:45 p.m. Thurs day, according to state police. Damage to both vehicles was minor, and no injuries were re ported. Arraigned Elmer Boyd Gra- Velle, 24, Jacksonville, was ar raigned in district court Friday on a petty larceny charge, which had been reduced from grand larceny, court records disclosed. He was given until Monday to enter a plea and is held in the county jail. The case involves items taken June 5 at Jackson Hot springs and James Bishop Phillips was the complainant, records show. a ' Shoplifting Two Medford stores have informed city police ef items being taken by shop lifters. Ben J. Trowbridge told officers that several items taken from Trowbridge and Flynn Elec tric company, 214 West Main st., this month included a small radio and a steam iron. Floyd M. Hibbard said that a frying pan was taken Friday from the Marshall-Wells store, 310 East Main st.
