    'Champagne Lady'
To Resume Singing
Following Ordeal
Hollywood U.R) "Cham
pagne Lady" Alice Lon said she
would return to sing with Law
rence Weill's orchestra tonight
despite the recent outrage of
having three masked men rip
off her cloths and photograph
her in the nude.
The singer, though still shaken
from the six-hour reign of ter
ror at her home early Sunday,
said she would return for her
appearance at a beach ballroom
with the band because "the show
must go on."
On Verg of Breakdown
Some friends reported, how
ever, she was on the verge of a
breakdown because of her or
deal. Meanwhile, a lie detector test
indicated hotel bus boy Joseph
M. Cannon, 25, was telling the
truth when he denied being one
of the three men who invaded
the singer's home and beat her
and members of her family.
- "Erratic Patterns'
Cannon voluntarily submitted
to the lie detector test to prove
he was telling the truth when
be denied taking part in the inci
dent. At the conclusion of the
test yesterday, Detective P. A.
Poe said "all indications show
he is telling the truth."
However, Sgt. Ray Willis, who
gave the examination, said there
were some "erratic patterns" he
wanted to study further. Cannon
remained in custody.

there is "terrific opposition."
