Padlock Described
As Safety Measure for
Tools and Appliances
Milwaukee (U.R) A thumbnail-sized
padlock can be used
as a safety measure for young
sters by "locking out" the elec
trical plugs of lamps, power
tools and appliances when not
in use.
The tiny laminated steel pad
lock contains a shackle, or
"hook," only one - eighth of an
inch thick, small enough to fit
virtually every electrical plug.
When the padlock is snapped
shut through the hole in either
prong of the plug, it becomes im
possible for children to insert the
plug into an outlet.
Called the "Cub," the padlock
weighs less than an ounce and
stands slightly more than an inch
high. It can also be used for lock
ing zippers, brief cases, golf
bags and mail boxes.

Keeping a dark summer cotton
dress free from lint is easier if
it's washed alone or with other
dark, colorfast items. To prevent
starch from streaking cottons,
make sure the starch is well mix
ed, free from lumps and is dark
ened a little with bluing. It's
best to iron dark cotton on the
wrong side and use a pressing
cloth for touchups on the right
side.
To get best results in making
fresh fruit cobblers, have the
fruit mixture piping hot before
adding the biscuit topping. For
a shortcut, use ready-to-bake
biscuit topping.
