Bomb Said Cause Oi Airliner Crash; Sabotage Blamed New Delhi, India (U.P.) An Indonesian official court of in quiry reported today that a time bomb caused the crash of an Air India Constellation that killed Chinese Communist delegates uho were flying to the recent Bandung conference. The court's findings said the crash of the Constellation "Kash mir Princess" last month was caused by the explosion of an "infernal machine" in the star board wheel of the aircraft and that there was '"irrefutable proof" of sabotage. Advance Warning Peiping charged the plane was sabotaged by American and Chiang Kai-shek agents and warned Hong Kong authorities even before it arrived there that "something might happen." It was considered almost certain the Communists would repeat the charges now. The Constellation plunged into the South China Sea off the great Natuna Islands April 11 while carrying Chinese and Viet namese delegates to the Bandung Afro-Asian conference. Fifteen persons were killed, including II Chinese. Three Indian crew members survived. Unusual Precautions Hong Kong authorities insist ed that because of the advance warning by Peiping airport po lice took unusual security pre cautions. Today Hong Kong gov ernment admitted the infernal machine may have been placed aboard there and said an in vestigation was ' being pursued with the utmost vigor." USC Sf udents Profesf SiiVers as Speaker Los Angeles (U.R) The Stu dent Senate of the University of Southern California have passed unanimously a resolution opposing Gov. Allan Shivers of Txas as speaker of the school's June 11 commencement exer cises. The resolution requested the university to replace Shivers "with someone of well recog nized power and integrity." It was handed over to USC officials today. . John Snell, 32, his partially blind wife, and two sons aged 4 and 2, were admitted to the United States in September, 1953, over the objections of the immigration and naturalization service which feared they might become public charges. Only the generosity of munici pal employee Sigfried Lofstrom, a Portland ditch-digger, has kept the immigration service fears from being realized. Snell entered the country from England on the strength of rec ommendations from Sen. Wayne Morse, Sen. Guy Cordon and Rep. He said Orecon emoloyers are "too timid" to hire blind workers Clifford Stocker. administrator of the Oregon Commission for the Blind, said Snell has had difficulty adjusting to job op portunities in the United States. He said he would prefer to stay in America because his sons would cet more free education than they would in their native land. Life in the United States has not been all heartbreak for the Snells. SOC Graduation Scheduled Sunday; Richards To Talk Ashland Commencement for some 240 graduates of Southern Oregon college will be held Sun day at 3 p.m. in the Lithia Park Memorial Band shell. The commencement address will be delivered by Dr. John R. Richards, vice-chancellor of the Oregon state system of higher education. Diplomas will be con ferred and master's hoods will be placed by SOC President Dr. Elmo N. Stevenson. -Band, Choir Set The Southern Oregon College choir under the direction of Oscar Bjorlie will sing and the SOC band under the direction of Glenn Matthews will play. Miss Helene Robinson will also play the organ during the ceremonies. At noon, preceding the com mecement program in the Park, an alumni association banquet has bee scheduled in Susanne Homes Hall on campus. All graduating seniors have been invited to the luncheon. A recep tion for graduates, parents, friends and faculty will be held in the park at the close of the commencement exercises. M Friday, May 27. 1955 Pay Boost for Judges Signed by Patterson Salem (U.R) Circuit judges of Oregon will get a boost in pay as of May 16, the day Gov. Paul L. Patterson signed the measure the Legislature passed to pro vide for the increase, according to Secretary of State Earl T. Newbry. The increase is from $10,500 a year to $11,000. Senate bill 387 which provided the increase car ried the emergency clause and became effective the day the governor signed it. Newbry said the increase would be reflected in their May salary vouchers. Cutter Endorses Salk Vaccine Tests Berkeley, Calif. (U.R) Dr. Robert K. Cutter, president of the Cutter Laboratories here, yesterday endorsed the U. S. Fublic Health Service's proposal for "more delicate" testing of Salk polio vacpine.
