(International) Shady Cove -Trail News Shady Cove-Trail Art Sa- gaser of Brookings is visiting his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Bergren of Shady Cove. Mrs. Jean Lillie of San Ber nardino, Calif., is visitjng her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Baker of Trail. George Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Baker of Trail, and Shirley Dawson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dawson of Trail were married in Reno, Nev., on Saturday and are on a honeymoon trip. Rico Bertoglio of Shady Cove Is making a trip to Sacramento, Calif., on business. Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Howe have just returned from a trip to Michigan. They flew back to Flint, where they purchased a new car which they drove home. They visited relatives in Flint, Mt. Pleasant, Reed City, and De troit and an aunt and uncle of Mrs. Howe's in Suring, Wise. On their return trip they went. to. San Pablo, Calif., where they vis ited their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Steacy. Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Williams end Mrs. Pearl Adair of Shady Cove, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Al Mohr at Gold Hill recently. Mrs. Ernest Segessenman and daughter, Miss Mary Segessen man, have just returned from Victoria, B.C., where they at tended the wedding of Mrs. Se gessenman's niece. Miss Mar garet Roach. During their stay in Canada they took the boat trip from Victoria to Vancouver, B.C. On their return trip they stopped in Gervais to visit with Mrs. Segessenman's niece and In Eugene where they visited with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Vosson. Work seems to be progressing very rapidly on the new Doctor's building in Shady Cove. Jack Grow of Eagle Point is now env ployed there as carpenter. The land for the building was pur chased by Dr. Ferguson from Mr. and Mrs. O. Lr Williams of Shady Cove. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sheppard of Los Angeles are visiting with his brother and wife. Mr. and Mrs.' Earl Sheppard of the Roguedale Cash Market, Shady Cove. Mrs. Gene House of Shady Cove has just returned from a trip to Hayward Calif., where she was called to attend the fu neral of her aunt. ' . Mrs. Albert Hughes, mother of Ms. Walt Messscar of Trail is among those graduating this week from SOC and she will obtain her 3 year certificate. She has been teaching this past year a Roberta Creek near Roseburg. Mrs. Greta Peck of Seattle Is staying with her sister, Mrs. Neva Taylor of Elk Creek, Trail for awhile. Also visiting Mrs. Taylor is another sister and hus band, Mr. and Mrs. Al Miller of Monterey Park, Calif! Mr. and Mrs. A. V. McKinnon of Redondo Beach, Calif., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ku cera of Shady Cove. Miss Bernice Hook of Moun tain View, Calif., is visiting her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Del Logan of Shady Cove. Mrs. David Allen and Mrs. Roger Simpson were joint host esses at a wedding shower hon oring Mr. and Mrs. Byron Cra ven on Thursday afternoon, May 12, at the VFW hall in "Shady Cove. Mr. and Mrs. Craven (the former Shirley Allen) were mar ried May 2 in Reno, Nev. Guests attending the shower were the Mesdames Kenneth Paulson, Theron Mason, Al Cooper, Irene Lowery, Jesse Walker, Ray Chubb, Lorene Lowery, Gladys Clark, Myrtle Lowery, Charlene Peile, Ernest Bigelow, Jim Hop kins and David Allen of Shady Cove, and Walt Messecar, Bur ton Ragsdale, Edward Hodge, Fred Morgan and Walter Ody of Trail. Gifts were received from those unable to attend. The ground for the new Cath olic chapel in Shady Cove was blessed and dedicated last Sun day following the 9 a.m. serv ice with Father Deis of Medford officiating. Following this a group of men together with a group from Sacred Heart Par ish and the Knights of Columbus in Medford put in a days work on the grounds, getting the ditches ready for pouring con crete and other preliminary work. Ladies of the parish and "Our Lady of Fatima" club served lurrch to the workers on the grounds. Two more work days are plan ned for Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, and all local men of the parish as well as anyone else who would be interested in helping are asked to come to the grounds ready to work. Lunch will be served by the ladies at the grounds on Sunday. Plans are also getting under way for the annual Father's Day dinner to be held this year at the VFW hall.
