MEDFORDWTRIBUyE srpaDimrs Eagle Pointers Slate CW Team Camp White Camp White's semi-pro baseball club will be guest of Eagle Point this Sunday with game time set for 2 p.m. at the high school diamond. ; Both clubs are members'of the Rogue Valley League but this will be a practice tussle. The two teams met last Sun day with Camp White getting the edge 4 to 3, Eagle Point will attempt to even the score in the return fracas. Eagle Point returns to semi pro ball this year after several year's absence. TO OPEN PRO CAREER . Spokane (U.R) Gordon Gladson, Washington State Col lege's three-time NCAA boxing champ, will open his pro career here Monday night against Dan ny Cloy, Pasco. (U.R) Me chanics worked today on the damaged race car of veteran driver Paul Russo who escaped injury Thursday when his ve hicle twice hit the wall during the 500-mile race practice at the Indispolis Motor speedway. Of ficials said a back wheel "lock ed up" causing the car to spin into the wall tail first, and then into the infield. (U.R) Squads of police who answered a bur glar alarm 4at a jewelry store found two 10-year-old boys peering through a hole in the ceiling. The boys, who had climbed over rooftops, gained entrance through a skylight and were breaking a hole in the ceil ing when police arrived, told of ficers, "we were going into the store to see what we could find." ra IN THERE PITCHING Chicago Cubs Pitcher Sam Jones is doing just that against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Chicago as he pitches the first no-hit, no-run game of 1955. Lower Rates Seen With Advent of Natural Gas Portland (U.R) Gas rates will be lowered "very substan tially" by Portland Gas & Coke Company after the advent of natural gas here next year, C. H. Gueffroy, company president, said today. . Gueffroy yesterday signed the firm contract to buy gas from Pacific Northwest Pipeline Com pany of Houston, Texas, and West Coast Transmission Com pany of Calgary, Alta. Gas will come from both Canadian and San Juan Basin fields. SKUNKED Lapeer, Mich. (U.R) Students at the rural Slater school re ceived an unexpected vacation when a family of skunks took up residence under the floor.
