(U.R) Don Cockell, British challenger for the world heavyweight title, quietly resumed sparring today while his camp protested that the gloves were too big and the ring too small for Monday night's championship fight with Rocky Marciano. Manager John Simpson yester day wired the State Athletic Commission that the 16 and one half foot ring which will be in use at San Francisco's Kezar Stadium would be a "tremen dous handicap" to his boxer. "We were promised a 20-foot ring and we get a 16-footer," Simpson said. "We also were Davidson Third Man in Grudge Scrap Buck Davidson, . Klamath Falls, will be the third man in the ring at Merrick's arena Sat urday night when Yoggi Hus sane and Logger Porter clash in a grudge wrestling watch slated for one hour or two out of three falls. The grudge started about three weeks ago when Porter, here as a spectator, stepped into the ring to issue a challenge to any wrestler and Hussane attempted to throw him out. Instead, Hus sane receipted for a brief but sound thrashing and has rejected all efforts by Porter to get a match with him. It was Porter's added incen tive of $100 plus his purse if Hussane can beat him that fi nally induced the Springfield Turk to take the bout. Two outstanding preliminary scraps have been signed. The middle one pits Cyclone Cobb against Champ Thomas and the opener sends Cowboy. Wes Knapp in with Larry Presnell Starting time is 8:30 p.m. and arena doors open an hour earlier. Jimmy Murray, who is co promoting the bout with the IBC, said no promise had been made about the 20-foot ring which is located in the San Francisco Civic Auditorium. "I told Simpson that we prob ably would use the 20-foot ring but it isn't available," Murray said. The 16 and one-half foot ring is used in . the Cow Palace, scene of numerous champion ship bouts. It is California law that eight ounce gloves be used in all championship fights. However, the glove protest gave' Simpson and Manager Al Weill something in common. Marciano's pilot wants to use six-ounce gloves, too. LEGAL NOTICES NOTICE TO CREDITORS IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE STATE OF OREGON, FOR JACK SON COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF THE ESTATE of LILLIAN M.
