News About Servicemen ON RECREATION STAFF Miss Dolores Wilkinson, Med ford, recently joined the recrea tion leader staff at Ft. Lewis' enlisted men's clubs, according to an announcement from there. She was transferred from Ft. Lawton, in Seattle. She attended Oregon State college and Marylhurst college, graduating in 1950. She is the daughter of Mrs. John T. Wil kinson, 726 Keeneway dr., Med- ford. SET FOR MANEUVERS MSgt. Omer Young, whose wife, Clara, lives in Rogue River, Ore., will participate in the training maneuvers known as "Operation Applejack" in May, at the Yakima Firing cen ter, according to an Army announcement. LEAVE IN TOKYO . Pfc. Vernon L. Hagerty, 24, son of Verlyn L. Hagerty, 1422 Dixie lane, Medford, recently spent a week's leave in Tokyo from his unit in Korea, accord ing to an Army release. A teletype operator with the 59th signal support company, he has been in the Far East since March, 1953, and enlisted at Ft. Lewis, Wash., in 1948. AIRMAN LEAVES Johnny C. Rutherford, an air man third class, will leave Sat urday, for Parks Air Force base, Calif., after visiting since April 1 with his mother, Mrs. Louise Rutherford, 103 Genessee st. This is his last leave before go ing overseas. He expects to serve in Korea. Airman Rutherford is with the air police and entered the Air Force in August, 1954. Hayes, director of the pilot school for exceptional children located in Phoenix, is in Pendleton today attending a conference for teach ers of gifted and retarded chil dren under the pilot program. The conference was called by Mason McQuiston, state director. Hayes will meet with his class on Monday. Clinic Rescheduled A pre school -roundup of prospective school children has been resche- uled at Griffin Creek school for Thursday, April 28, it was an nounced -today by Mrs. Lyle Heidemann, president of the Mothers club. The roundup had previously been scheduled for early in May. It will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parents living in the area, or intending to move there, who have children who will be six years old prior to next November 15, are asked to bring them to the roundup.
