' Statistics sltbw that the prac tice of iodizing salt (adding a wee bit of iodide of potash to the salt sold for table and cooking use) has at least alleviated iodin Mysterious Lights Seen in Wallowas Wallowa, Ore. (U.R) The bounding blue lights of the Blue mountains now have been seen in the Wallowa mountains. The mysterious lights were first reported earlier by snow plow operators in the Tollgate area of the Blue mountains. The Wallowa weekly Record quoted Roy Leverenz as saying he saw the strange lights last week. His description said the "object was bright blue, light, large, low and near." He watched it drift slowly for several seconds during the eve ning. It was round, or some what oval, in shape and some thing resembling smoke came from it, Leverenz said. During the time he watched it a smaller blue light dropped off at the bottom and glowed sep arately for an instant. Others reporting the object were Fran cis Armon and Ernest Snuffer. They called it a new Red effort to restrict contact be tween the East and West. The West Berlin Labor Of fice 'said the Communists had fired 3500 West sector residents from "their jobs in the Soviet sector of the city this year and called it a political move because of the ratification of the Paris accords.
