Lloyd QmiIm Kimble (Landis-ShHgl Photo) Kimble-Casey Wedding Held At Home of Bride's Parents Mies Vera Mae Casey became the bride of Lloyd Charles Kimble of Coos Bay at a cere mony held March 26 at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Casey, 1409 Cunning ham avenue, Medford. The bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Kimble were here from Coos Bay for the ceremony which was read at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. 1 The Rev. J. Thomas Dixon of the First Methodist church read the double ring rites. About 30 guests attended. Pink and white stock decorated the rooms. Mr. Casey gave his daughter In marriage. Tor her wedding the bride wore a white suit and blue ac cessories and she carried white orchid on a white Bible. Mrs. Henry Tygart, Butte Falls, the bride's sister, was the horfor at tendant. With her tan suit Mrs. Tygart wore pink accessories and her corsage was of pink rose buds. Robert Kimble, Coos Bay, was best man for his brother. Music was furnished by Mrs. James Edge, who sang, accomp- Luncheon, Cards Planned for Group Lady Elks will meet at . the Medford Elks club party lounge Tuesday,. April 5 at 1 p.m. A complete luncheon will be served and an afternoon of cards will follow. ' V Mrs. Robert Forbes, new chairman of the group, will be introduced during the luncheon. She succeeds Mrs. Frank Little, who has served as chairman the past season. Wives of , all Elks club members are invited. In charge of the guest book was Miss Lois Kelley and serving the punch was Miss Betty Cook. Mrs. Tom Clark served the wedding cake Mrs. Casey wore a pink knit suit with blue accessories and the bridegroom's mother was dressed in a tan suit with white accessories. Both had corsages, of pink and white freesias. The bride is a graduate of Medford Senior High school and the bridegroom is a graduate of Coos Bay High school. He served for three years in the Army and now is in the logging business. The couple is living in Coos Bay. ' - Eagle Point Club Honors Member At Housewarming Lagle Point A meeting of the Eagle Point Lady Lions club March 28 was a combined house warming party and business ses sion. The group gathered first at the home of Mrs. Louis Clave and then together went to the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grey for the housewarming, which was in the form of a surprise. They presented Mrs. Grey a gift for her home and refresh ments were served, with Mrs. Clave and Mrs. J. Croskell as the hostesses. Later a meeting was con ducted when a Teenage club project was discussed and a work night planned when the club kitchen is to be painted, and new cabinets and a stove will be installed. A nominating committee also was appointed. The members of the - committee are Mrs. L. Clarke, Mrs. Grey and Mrs. M. Hinson. It will be held April 11 at 12:30 p.m. in St Mary's gymnasium. Over 60 women are on the committees preparing for this event In addition the entire student body of St. Mary's High school will assist as baby sitters, handymen, chauffeurs and host esses. Mrs. John Laden is general chairman and the hostess com mittee is headed by Mrs. Frank Roelandt. Assisting her are Mes- dames John Cooney, Lawrence Neer, William Driscoll Jr., Ab ner Clark, C. F. Metz, Frank Dorigan, Fred Spiegelburg, Jos eph Neaumes, John Daugherty, Joseph Barrett, John Jensen and Russell McKeehnie. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Duff and Mr. and Mrs. James Fine gan make up the tables and chairs committee and Mrs. Ge rard Clark is coffee chairman. Mrs. Paul .Haviland, food chairman, is assisted by Mes dames Herbert Seitz, J. J. Lyden and J. J. McDuffie. The kitchen committee is Mrs. William Schruggs, chairman, and Mesdames Thomas Cardona, Don Herbert, Julius Shasky, Paul Meyers, Cecil Read, Clyde Huntington, Ray Wise and Jo seph Shober. Mrs. John Boyle, Mrs. Mau rice Spatz and Mrs. E. H. McKee make up the committee on pri zes and Mesdames R. A. Naumes, James Finegan, D. J. Reverman, Don Minkler and George Davy are in charge of tallies. Mrs. Thomas Eslinger is the reservations chairman and the cleanup committee is Mr. and Mrs. David Walsh assisted by the high school boys. - On the decorations committee are Mesdames James C. Miller Jr., Russ Jamison-' and John Bruggman. Mrs. David Lowry and Mrs. Clarke Thomas are chairmen for the buffet. 4 Speakers Named For Garden Club; Postpone Show Mrs. A. O. Floyd will be main speaker for Medford Garden club when the club meets April 7 at 2 p.m. at the Girls Commu nity club. Her topic will be "The Acid Garden." Mrs. C. C. Sater will have the horticulture lesson for the after noon, and her topic will be "Wild Scents." Mrs. W. H. Dyer will have charge of the tea hour. Members are reminded to wear an Easter Bonnet, these to be made from articles on hand. They will be judged for attrac tion and originality. Little Marilyn Denning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Denning, assistant manager of the Camp White domiciliary, will be presented to the club as their candidate for Pear Blos som festival queen. Since the cold weather has re sulted in a late bloom, the club announces that the spring flower show set for April 5 at the YMCA will be held at the same location April 26. The club's executive board will meet at the home of Mrs. LeRoy Cline, 1421 'Euclid ave., Monday, April 4, at 8 p.m. Former Resident Visits in Valley Carl W. Ringer left for his home in Madera, Calif., after spending a week in the valley with friends. Mr. Ringer visited Mr. and - Mrs. William vonder Hellen, Mr. and Mrs. Carl von der Hellen, George Vilas and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Elliott. Mr. Madera, who at one time was employed by the Pacific and Eastern Railway company which operated trains between Med ford and Butte Falls, left here in 1917 with a company of men who served together in World War I. Since that time he had returned here only once, making a brief overnight visit. When Mr. Madera was with the PEE, the station stood where Hawthorne park is now located. ftnttr, April 3, ISM MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBtflfB THRE1 New Group' Plans Promotion Dinner Plans for a promotion dinner were made at a meeting oi the auxiliary to the Milk Producers' league held Tuesday noon at the Jackson hoteL The president, Mrs. Wilfred Davids, presided. Reports from various commit tees were given. The dinner will be held the latter part of May. The next meeting will be held April 26 at the Jackson hoteL 'fas i ii' Last week end social activity centered at Rogue Valley Country club where the 1955 Oregon Open Golf tournament was played. Among the visitors was D. "Scotty" Chisholm, Ocean Park, Calif., who served as announcer for part of the tournament program. Shown with Mr. Chisholm are Mrs. Tom MacLeod. Mrs. Russell Heysell, whose husband was gen eral chairman for the tournament, and Mrs. Jim Howells, Port Townsend, Wash., whose husband was entered in the tournament clay. Mrs. Heysell served on the hospitality com mittee for the tournament. State Bird Chairman to be Speaker For Garden Club District Meeting Oliver H. Brougher, of Scotts Mills, Ore., state bird chairman, will be the featured speaker at the spring meeting of Siskiyou district Oregon Federation' of Garden clubs. The meeting will District Session Of OES Planned In Central Point A district meeting of Order of Eastern Star chapters will be held Friday, April 8, at 8 p.m. in Crater High school gymna sium in Central Point. The meeting will honor Mrs. Louise Irving, Madars, worthy grand matron of the grand chapter, who will pay her official visit at that time. Nevita chapter will be the host group, and other chapters par ticipating will be Reames of MedfordAlpha of Ashland and Adarel, Jacksonville. It is point ed out that the gymnasium is on the ground floor and there are no stairs to climb. A dinner meeting is planned at Mon Desir inn at 6 p.m. for grand officers, grand committee members, grand representatives, line officers of the participating chapters and husbands of these officials. ' Mrs. Charles Coggins, worthy matron of Adarel chapter, asks officers of her chapter to be at Crater High school today, April 3, at 1 p.m. to practice for the district meeting. Adarel chapter also announc ed a stated meeting to be held Thursday, April 7, at 8 '- p.m. in the Masonic hall in Jackson ville. The committee in charge is Mr. and Mrs. Lou Conly, Mrs. Frank Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hamlin and Mrs. Jeanette Spencer. be held April 12 in the Grange hill at Gold Hill. The session will open with a coffee hour at 9 a. m. with mem bers of the Rogue River club serving. Hostesses for luncheon will be the Gold Hill club. The business meeting will be under the direction of Mrs. A. O. Floyd, Medford, district di rector. Invocation' will be de livered by the Rev. Gerald Gear, Gold Hill, and Mrs. Harry Bry ant, Medford, will lead the flag salute. Each district chairman is asked to present a prepared report Mr. Brougher will speak on "Our Feathered Friends." Claude W. l.Iills, Oswego, will give the flower talk for the day, and will show slides to illustrate his lec ture. Musical selections will be of fered by Mrs. Norman Gail, Gold Hill, whistler, and Mrs. Dudley Fabrick, Rogue River, vocalist. Accompanist will be Mrs. Charles Babcock Rogue River. Miss Claire Hanley, Jackson ville, state president, will speak after lunch. . Several greenhouses have do nated prizes. Each member at tending the luncheon is asked to bring a table favor. Rebekah Lodge Plans Initiation Formal initiation ceremonies will be conducted Monday, April 4, by Olive Rebekah lodge wom en when they meet at 8 p. m., in the IOOF building, 221 West Sixth street. Mrs. Frank Chap man, noble grand, will preside for a business meeting. Mrs. Lewis Thompson, degree staff captain, will have charge of the ceremonies. Visiting Rebekahs are invited. Mrs.-. Minnie Bryant' is chair man of the refreshment committee. VFW Dance . A dance will be given at the Camp White domiciliary by the department of Oregon, VFW Auxiliary, Monday, April 4 at 8 p.m. in the Camp theater. Lady Lions Give Benefit Party Twenty-four tables of cards were in play at the Medford Lady Lions club auxiliary card party Tuesday evening at the YMC building. The event is an annual one in connection with the state Lions club auxiliary project to assist with benefit work for the state school for the blind. Prizes were awarded for high and low scores at each table, and refreshments were served. Among those winning prizes were Mrs. L. G. McLaren, Mrs. Theodore Garhart and Mrs. S. B. Collins, Denver, Colo. Mrs. Col lins is in Medford to visit her daughter, Mrs. R. B. Temple. Mrs. Lee Mellish was chair man of the party with Mrs. J. A. Tomjack assisting. Included in the decorations was a poster which introduced the group's candidate in the pear blossom festival, Lorill Rae Minkler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Minkler. The Easter theme wa usea in decorative place cards and tallies, and spring flowers also decorated the room.
