Cars Collide JoAnn C. Smith, Sacramento, Calif., and Henry H. Stevens, 20 Lincoln st.. were drivers of cars which collided at about 4:10 a.m. Tues day on West Sixth st. between Ivy and Holly sts., according to city police. Stevens was cited for failure to stop at the scene of an accident, the report said. No injuries were listed. IOOF Lodge Jacksonville Odd Fellows lodge will meet for a potluck dinner Friday, April 1, at 7 p.m., at the IOOF hall. Wives of the lodge men and Re- bekah lodge members will be in charge of the dinner. The offi cers point out that beginning with Friday the regular potluck dinners will be held the first Fridays in the month instead of on the second Fridays as in the past. To San Diego Mrs. Byron Ellis, 820 Crater Lake ave., left today for San Diego, Calif., to visit her son, Carl Eugene Ellis, who has received basic Navy training there. The two will visit relatives in San Diego, and Los Angeles before returning to Medford next lTuirsday. Young Ellis will have a 10-day leave after ceremonies Saturday mor ning which close his training period. Return Mrs. Joe Wolk-Lan-iewski, Table Rock rd., return ed Monday after visiting in Gar dena, Calif., with a sister, and at Barstow with her mother. Accompanying her south was Mrs. Harvey Parrott Sr., 1410 Hilton rd., who visited relatives . and friends in various southern California towns, including her mother at El Monte, and a sister at Bellflower. Accident Reported Cars driven by Walter E. Ody. Trail, and Sadie M. Howard, 1507 West Main st., were involved in a col lision at the intersection ' of Ninth and Bartlett sts. at about 11:20 a.m. yesterday, according to city police. Ody was cited for failure to yield right of way while pulling from the curb, police said. Man Sought Albert Ror, 1006 East State st., Ontario, C;;lif., is seeking to contact Homer Pierce, about 45 years of age, who is believed to be in Medford, according to city po lice. Pierce, or anyone knowing his whereabouts, is requested to contact Roy or Medford city police. Building Permits R. T. Marsh has obtained a 315,000 building permit to construct a residence at 2100 Woodlawn dr., and R. J. Lockwood has obtained a 51,800 permit to construct an addition to a residence at 15 Highland dr.. according to rec ords on file in the city building department. Buy Ranch Mr. and Mrs. Michael Beck, Old Stage rd., have purchased the former Bill Winningham ranch on Forest creek out of Jacksonville and plan to move there next week. The place consists of about 80 acres and the Becks plan to run white face cattle on the ranch. Their former home on Old Stage rd. will be occupied by their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beck. News About Servicemen SAILS OVERSEAS SSgt. Milton Vanderlinden of the U.S. Marine corps sailed March 31 from San Diego for overseas duty with the Third Marine division. Sergeant Van derlinden has been stationed at Camp Pendleton in California for the last two months, with duty in Twenty-Nine Palms. While he is overseas Mrs. Van derlinden and their three child ren, Mark Edward, Rebecca Lane and Trudy Kay, are living with Mrs. Vanderlinden's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. George L. Watson, 1121 West 10th st. On Trip Mrs. Jean Hart left Sunday for Palm Springs, Calif., to join Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hart of Central Point. The group will return by way of Los Angeles and plan to be home next week. Visit Here Mr. and Mrs. Chet L. Thompson, former Medford residents, left the first of the week after visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Webb, 915 Reddy ave. Thunday, March 31, 1955 MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE FIFTEEN Jury Clears Cal-Pac Of Injury Damages Portland (U.R) A Federal Court jury has ruled that the California-Pacific Utilities Com pany was not liable for damages in an injury suit brought by El wood Stanbro, Grant county stockman. Stanbro had sought S22,500 from the utility firm for injuries suffered in July of 1953 when he ran into a guy wire while gallop ing on a horse. President Eisenhower Slates Spring Vacation Washington (U.R) Presi dent Eisenhower will go to Aug usta, Ga., April 12 for a spring vacation, the White House said today. He will stop enroute at Charleston, S.C., to accept an honorary degree from The Cita del. Gen. Mark W. Clark, World War II comrade of Mr. Eisen hower, is president of the Cita del, one of the oldest military colleges in the nation. The White House would not estimate when Mr. ' Eisenhower will end his stay in Augusta, but unofficially he is expected back here about April 20 or 21. Sewer Construction Bids Due Tomorrow Bids on construction of the East Jackson st. sanitary sewer will .be opened at 11 a.m. to morrow in the city hall, accord ing to city officials.
