Reparation Veek Will Open Sunday At Sacred Heart A week of religious devotions, known as the "Week of Repara tion," will be conducted at the Sacred Heart church beginning Sunday, March 27. This series of religious exercises is a "very recent spontaneous outgrowth of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus," church officials com mented. Though this type of devotion has been conducted in the east ern part of the country, Med ford is the first city in the west to sponsor them. This is the second successive year that the sessions have been conducted here. ( The opening time for the service Sunday will be 7:30 p.m., with a Holy hour of bene diction, sermons, hymns and acts of reparation. Similar serv ices will be held at the same hour Monday through Friday. Daily masses on the weekdays will be at 6:30 and 8 a.m., and at 7:30 p.m., beginning with a ii Holy hour. Holy Communion will be distributed at 7:50 a.m., and a sermon will follow the 8 a.m. weekly mass. Willia Caff ray, pictured above, will conduct a series of revival meet ings at the Central Point Pilgrim Holiness church beginning April 1 and continuing through April 10. The speaker has done Metho dist missionary and social work in various parts of the world. She now is employed as chaplain for the Fairhaven hospital in Sacramento, a Penieel Missions home. Services will be held daily at 7:30 p.m., according to the pastor, the Rev. H. James Kreider. Negro Family Gels Offers of Housing Portland lim A young Negro Navy petty officer and his wife today said they were receiving many offers of houses for sale, after newspaper pub licity of their trouble in finding a home. Steward 3-c George J. Hunter and his wife, Frances, said they weren't sure, however, that the houses offered were exactly what they had in mind. Hunter, who is stationed at Astoria, says he thinks he is due for overseas duty soon, but he wants to settle permanently in Portland. They have two children. Young People Join In District Rally The Young People's Mission ary society of the Medford Free Methodist church will join with the organization of the Southern district of the Oregon conference in a convention rally with the opening service today at 7:30 p. m. Services will extend through Saturday and Sunday and will feature varied interests for the day meetings and an evangelistic emphasis at night. The Rev. Frank Leddusire will be the guest speaker. The Rev. Leddusire is a youth leader in the Washington conference of the Free Methodist church, and is a student evangelist from the campus of the Seattle Pacific college. Meetings Open Today At Assembly of God Dr. Merle Edwards, evangelist from Denver, Colo., will speak on "God and the Teen-Ager" at the Medford Assembly of God, 1108 West Main st., today at 7:45 p. m. A science demonstration will accompany the message. On Sunday morning, Dr. Ed wards' message will be, "They Wanted a Revival." He also will speak at the evangelistic service at 7:30 p. m. Mrs. Gladys Edwards will par ticipate in the revival campaign by conducting prayer, services each Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a. m. in the church. A men's prayer meeting will be held at the church Saturday at 7 p.m. Persons desiring to attend the Sunday school and need trans portation may call 2-5328 or 2-4292. They considered the bird their party symbol a "good omen" for the success of the Democratic Party in the Diet sessions. BEGIN MEETING The Rev. Paul A. McGuire, shown with his wife, and daughter, Angie, will open evangelistic meetings at the Phoenix Church of the Nazarene Wednesday, March 30. The meetings will be held daily at 7:30 p. m., and will continut through April 10. The Rev. Mc Guire has served churches in Colorado and California and Mrs. McGuire, an experienced Sunday school worker, specializes in children's activities. The daugh ter is a vocal soloist and also plays the piano and accordion. The church is located there at Third and Pine sts., in Phoenix. Ellsworth To Meet Linn, Lane Officials Washington (U.R) Rep. Harris Ellsworth (R-Ore.) today said he planned to meet with Linn and Lane flood control of ficials early in April to discuss the Green Peter and Cougar Dam projects. Sites of the meetings had not yet been determined. Rep. Ellsworth has introduced bills authorizing "partnership" construction of the two dams, located in the Willamette Val ley. The Bureau of the Budget recommended Sl.000,000 to start work on Green Peter, and $2, 000,000 for Cougar, if the meas ure is passed. Church School Will Be Opened on Sunday Sunday, school classes at the Philadelphia church at tempor ary quarters at 122 North River side ave., will be started next Sunday at 10 a.m., church of ficers announced. Classes have not been held in the past. Those not now attending other Sunday schools are invited, officers said. Church services are held at 11 a.m., and Sunday evening an evangelistic service is held at 7:45 p.m. Weekday services are held on Fridays at 7:45 p.m. Thomas White is the pastor.
