Beauchamp, chief of ' the Camas fire department, has earned a nation-wide reputation in the field of safety. He is chairman of Safety Unlimited, the Camas-Washougal safety or ganization, which includes rep resentatives of all civic, church, lodge, labor and youih groups in the community. The organization has an out standing record in the promotion of safety practices in its com munity, and as a result he has been guest speaker at a number of Oregon and Washington safe ty meetings where child and community safety have been dis cussed. Another of the speakers clue at the all-day conference will be Harry Heidenreich, - Meaford, who has been active in gun safe ty training work for 10 years in connection with the National Rifle association. He is an au thorized NRA firearms safety instructor, and is one of the in structors for the . Medford Gun club. He has instructed both be ginners and advanced marksmen in firearms safety. His subject will be firearms safely in the home. Phoenix Phoenix Mrs. Mabel Wells and daughter Florence and Mrs. Edna Raymond, all of Roseburg spent last weekend here with Mrs. Clifford H. Wallace. Mrs. Wells and Florence left for their home the first of this week while Mrs. Raymond will visit with his Wallace two or three more weeks. Mrs. Wells is a sis ter of Mrs. Wallace and Mrs. Raymond is Mrs. Wallace' mother. Mrs. Lary Arant returned home March 13 from Vernonia, where she was called by the ac cidental death of her uncle, Ernest Bennet, at the Long-Bell lumber mill where he was em ployed. Gayle Norris, daughter of Mrs. Helen Norris of Medford, and Susan Watrud, daughter of Mrs. Harriet Watrud of Klamath Falls, spent Friday night and part of Saturday here with their grandmother, Mrs. Elva Briscoe. A. H. Dudley who is in the Sa cred Haart hospital in Medford continues to improve and hopes to be back home soon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Starkey and daughter Elaine have re turned to their home in Klamath Falls after visiting at the O. O. Hill home. Mrs. Starkey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hill. Mrs. Frank Carland is back home after having gone to Alli ance, Neb., where she was called the first of this month by the death of her brother. The Fire Department was call ed to a car fire yesterday, the car having caught fire while parked in a lot next to Thomp son's Service Station. NIGHT HAZARD Hartford, Conn.
