Camp Adair Acreage Declared Surplus Corvallis (U.R) Nearly 50 per cent of the acreage at Camp Adair, 10 miles north of here, has been declared surnlus to th needs of the Oregon National uuard, it was announced today. Gen. Raymond Olson, assist ant adjutant general, said the World War II confinement area would be reduced by some 138 acres, leaving 190 for the Nation al Guard's use. Gen. Olson said the announce ment was expected to open up federally-owned warehouses and otner buildings for industrial use. Wall Street New York (U.R) Stocks eased slightly in a dull market today. The industrial department led the decline and lost nearly two points on average. Rails and utilities had smaller recessions. Metal shares, strong in the early trading, lost their gains. The deceased was born Aug. 23, 1896, in Redfield, la., and had lived in Gold Hill for the past 13 years. On Nov. 17, 1928, in Seattle, she was married to John N. Hangas, . who survives. Other survivors include a son, Richard F., Des Moines, la.; three brothers, Eddy Howell, Dale and Billy Howell, all of Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Carl Mortenson. Moline. KAREN MATHILDA JOHNSON Funeral services for Karen Mathilda Johnson, 61, of 16 North Orange st., who died in a local hospital Saturdav. will be held in Conger-Morris chapel xuesaay at 3 p.m. with the Rev. She formerly lived in Stan ton from 1936 to 1940. when she moved to Medford and has lived here since. She was a member of the Lutheran church in Stan ton.
